I'm playing a game as USA and I want to edit two French provinces over to Germany. An old story: AI Germany refuses Vichy, and ends up with the French capital in Colmar, with Strasbourg also French.

Would someone please tell me how I can edit these provinces over to Germany so Deutschland can get on with Barbarossa. How do I locate the code for a province and how do I edit specifically these two over to Germany.

thanks for the help

You can find the id's of a province by pressing f12 ingame and typing "showid". This will show an id-number in the lowerlefthandcorner of the game. Next, open the save game. You can find the section of France by searching for "Fra", use the searchfunction until you see "tag = Fra". Once you find that you need to look for the line "ownedprovinces". In this line, and the line "controlledprovinces" you can remove the provinces by deleting the numbers you just looked up. Then you can search for Germany "tag = Ger" and add those numbers to the owned- and controlledprovinces of Germany.
Don't forget to make a back-up btw, saves a lot of trouble.

Reduce landfort to zero, that should work.
Look in your savegame for "id = 542". (555 for Straßbourg)

province = {
id = 555
winter = no
control = {
year = 1940
month = may
day = 3
hour = 0
}
points = 2
ic = 3
maxic = 3
infra = 0.600
maxinfra = 0.600
landfort = 1
terrain = "hills"
}

Thanks for the tips. Both worked fine. I settled on a third solution that required no editing: load the game as France, disband all the troops in Maginot and eliminate all the builds in the que. Save and reload as USA. Soon Germany walked into the empty areas.
