Hi all, I want to make minor tweaks to my current campaign without buggering everything up. It's just little things like changing certain stats by tiny percentages, improving the cost-effectiveness of battleships and reducing their overly long build time, improving battle cruisers to make them worth using, dropping my manpower from 5000 to 75 and improving the combat performance of tanks to stop them from being nearly useless, that sort of thing. In the future I'd also like to create my own brigades and allow additional research into new technologies.

Is it possible to use the HOI2 editor to change stats of a game that is in progress? Or will I need to start my campaign all over again? I'm playing as Canada and spent the first 4 years of the 1936 campaign trading for blueprints and building factories, I don't want to sit through that lot again.

Stats not saved in the savegame will also affect an ongoing game. So just look at the savegame to see what is saved there and what is not (combat effectiveness for the different units, for example, is saved there and thus needs to be edited in the savegame).

Tanks are useless??? You are using them wrong. Tanks in plains and sunny wheather should be worth 3-5 infantry divisions. I have easily beaten up to seven inf divisions with just two tank divisions in france and Barbarossa.

Several of the things mentioned can be changed from the save game, just open it (it is a simple txt actually, although haveing a program like programmers notepad will help a lot). Tanks are not at all useless, you just have to learn to use them correctly...

DON"T USE the Editor, it is bugged, as I said open the savegames as text files... Things like the techs are a bit more difficult I think (haven't tried it), but you can take a look in the different mods, perhaps one has already what you are asking... And I think new brigadese are not available to be added?
