In HOI 1, in the scenario .inc nation files, you could edit a certain naval unit's stats to make it more accord to that specific unit, while retaining its original model number; it was possible, for example, to change the seadefence, seaattack, range, maxspeed or shorebombardment values for a specific vessel:

In HOI 1, for instance, say that the HMS Hood was classified as BB model = 2, and that all models = 2 had a default speed of 26. With this editing, you could change the Hood's stats in England's .inc 1939 scenario file by adding maxspeed = 32 } to the unit's stats. So then all BB model = 2 would have a default speed of 26, but the Hood model = 2 would be a speed of 32.

So in HOI 2, I'd like to be able to change a specific naval unit's maximum firing range, if this is possible, by adding distance = 30 } I've tried different commands, but to no avail... :(

Can this be modded, and if so, would some nice and knowledgeable soul, be so kind as to enlighten me...? Thanks ever so much! :)
