EDIT
.... Well, after a full game restart, the ghost map is gone.
I'm... really confused. But, hey, it's fixed, I guess?
>_> Sorry for the useless thread.

EDIT #2
Tried to edit the map again, and this has presented once more, so I guess it IS a legitimate, repeating bug I have here. Fun stuff.

EDIT THE THIRD
This seems to happen every time, and I'm able to replicate this with 100% results.
My guess is that this is related to how/when the in-game map editor saves things, possibly trying to host the new map in memory until the game closes instead of actually saving it? Not sure.

ORIGINAL POST
I had downloaded a map from the Steam Workshop, but found that it didn't have enough fertile land, and I opened it up to edit (with no intention of uploading this to Steam or anything, obviously - it's not mine
).
After doing what I needed to do, I hit save and gave it a new title so it wouldn't overwrite the original - which is still pretty great - and, to my surprise, it showed up in my map list TWICE, alongside the original.
Both seem to act very oddly. Terrain loads fine, and my edits appear to have persisted, but all objects (highways, trees/bushes, etc.) show up as low-resolution 2D images pasted over the terrain, and it starts vanishing in big squares. Further, a new game with this map starts with roughly -$10.5M and a HUGE deficit in the (inaccessable) budget. The entire UI is locked up, and camera movement lags severely (however, the cursor works fine, and an FPS monitoring mod reports normal framerates). Pausing, and the pause menu, work as normal.
I ended up deleting every map file I had in an attempt to get rid of this, but to no avail. It's still visible in-game, and can still "load" as above, but there's no file in the map directory where everything else was, leaving me unable to delete the file in any way. I can't "delete" it from in-game, as it simply unsubscribes me from the original map.
I've even gone so far as to run a search on my entire hard drive for anything containing ".crp" but that doesn't pull anything up.

- Download Steam Workshop map.
- Open map in Map Editor, make any changes.
- Save as a new map.
- "New" map will appear twice in asset manager and new game map browser - both are VERY broken.
- After restarting the game, the broken instance vanishes and the working "duplicate" becomes the new/edited map and works properly.
My guess is that this is related to how/when the in-game map editor saves things, possibly trying to host the new map in memory until the game closes instead of actually saving it? Not sure.
