Edit - I believe I filed this prematurely. Closing the game, reopening, and unpausing, the game engine caught the issue and resolved it. I am not able to delete the post entirely so I'm leaving this up for documentation purposes.

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
If a vassal gets a strong hook on a player character for a murder secret for example, the strong hook remains on the character even if the secret is revealed. This is illogical as well as divergent from the way that strong hooks work when they are held on an NPC. This takes an already offensive mechanic (removing player agency with no possibility of recourse is about the worst design decision possible in the first place, which is the case when your heir inherits and an NPC vassal already has a strong hook on them because he was a terrible enough person to go hunting with his father as a child) and makes it totally unreasonable. A single vassal with a strong hook on a character can literally break the realm by making idiotic requests that cannot be refused every 5 years. Having no possibility of removing one is insanely game-breaking.
Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Play a game until your heir inherits. Somehow ensure they have a murder secret. Just going hunting enough to not have your current ruler get fat pretty much ensures that his heir will kill a commoner while hunting, since theres a major chance of that occurring every single time you go hunting. Player heirs seem to give up strong hooks to anyone who wants one after that pretty much so it's incredibly easy to inherit a totally unworkable situation as a result.
It then becomes impossible to get rid of those strong hooks in any way. If youre lucky and the vassal is male or your religion is egalitarian you can force them to be a knight and hope they die in combat, but nearly every other option to deal with problem vassals is locked because they have a *strong hook* after all. I think I'm just going to have to straight up let them become independent and then claim each of their counties individually, fighting several wars over the course of my life, because this mechanic is absolutely busted.
Exposing the murder secret, insanely, does absolutely nothing to change the situation, which is counter to the behavior for strong hooks held by the player, where exposing the secret that gave the hook destroys it.
Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
It's pretty straightforward, this is just a nightmare.
