Or perhaps there are still those of you, so sheepish and meek, that cannot come to terms with the obvious fact that the Savarinist government has failed, not just the nation, not just your community, but you; you, your family, and everyone near and dear to your heart has been betrayed by those scoundrels and bastards who deign, with the greatest audacity, to rule over you as autocrats, with barely any pretence of democracy; where are their elections, those popularity contests they hold so dear to them? Where is that “liberty,” that great fools term to manipulate the minds of the weak, they promised? Where is that prosperity, that notion they, in their black hearts, despise more than anything else, they guaranteed under their new system? This disingenuous, disgusting, decrepit, and disastrous dictatorship of the dunces cannot but be deemed a devastation to Belgium, devoid of decency and daring, darting drastically from one dimwit to the next, and doomed to destroy the Fatherland!

Mr Socia d’Alist walks around the halls of Parliament with a „I told you so“ face for almost three hours. No one really cares or even notices him.
Madrid, the night sky is lit up with constant artillery barrages, buildings shake every two seconds and the streets are almost everywhere filled with rubble. Madrid is not yet dead, but it has become a soulless, hollow shell, almost nothing here reminds you of the golden capital that once brought awe to the hearts of many. Almost nothing. Banco de España, the national bank of Spain is still standing, almost unscratched and still filled with gold.
...Or, at least every piece of information that Valentin could find had promised that.
Powerful explosion ripped the vault door from it’s place. The sound of an explosion was probably almost unnoticable in a city where mortars never sleep, but there was still no reason to wait around any longer than necessary. Valentin commanded the small squad into the still smoking vault and crouched down next to the door leading to the great hall. Checking his rifle he smirked, reactionaries fighting ultrareactionaries in a destroyed capital city that just a few months back belonged to communists and now he’s here to steal their gold.
Carlists had thought they were a small squad from the „White Army“, soldiers of the „White Army“ had shot them believing them to be a group of communist partisans and the only cohort of actual communists had quickly convinced themselves that they were shooting at another squad of bourgeois scum. But they got out. And that small brown lorry they had stolen huffed and puffed but had no problems travelling on these poor Spanish roads.
Valentin grins, stroking a large bag filled with gold bars.
Next stop, Barcelona.

It seems as if this civil war will be fought with words and ideas rather then guns. So far this "crisis" has only been a "who can cut themselves more?" situation. The fascists's can't seem to get the needed soldiers to invade the mainland, and the mainland cannot seem to get its economy straight in order to actually LAUNCH an invasion. If this crisis is going to be resolved, one side needs to get the advantage in this situation. So far neither side has been able to get an advantage in this situation.

As the leader of the Flemish Rights Party, I will wholeheartedly support a national unity government. We are currently faced with a great crisis, and we must all unite in the defense of liberty. A house divided cannot stand against itself. This great nation cannot exist half Fascist and half free. It will be all one or all the other, but it cannot endure as two separate realms. We must crush the Fascists now, lest Pilon and his vile Stormtroepen march down the streets of Brussels! In regards to other matters, I believe that it is in our best interest to continue to remain neutral in the international crisis. We must not concern ourselves with other matters while the Fascists still hold Africa captive. A needless intervention in international politics would only weaken us, and now is a time for strength. Furthermore, it is my belief that the Fascists must be destroyed.

Greetings from Paris. The city is beautiful, but darkened both with communist banners and the long shadow of impending war. I am saddened that it has come to this so quickly, but ever since Heligoland, that damned foolish little war, it has perhaps been inevitable.
I will be blunt. My good faith in the British as stable and democratic allies aside, standing with them in this crisis would be complete suicide. It is beyond fanciful to imagine we could survive an assault from all of Germany, Russia and Italy at once; furthermore, it must not be forgotten that the Italians are also our allies. There is no way we can support the British in this crisis.
Neutrality is tempting, but nearly as foolish. The reason we can wield the international clout that we do is that we have been major players in European politics and a willingness to protect our interests. Surrendering that opportunity would also mean surrendering any pretensions we have at being worthy of a seat at the political table equal to that of the other Great Powers, which in turn would likely make the diplomatic moves necessary to overtake the fascists impossible.
We must therefore side with those least likely to annihilate us, those being the Germans. There is still a chance to avert this war if the combined might of all the rest of Europe could force the British to back down. In a worst-case scenario, damage to Belgium would be minimal; we would only have to keep the British at bay at sea, an easy enough task with the help of the German navy, and they might even inflict collateral damage to the African fascists. Our strategy would be to participate minimally in the war, keep Royal Navy ships away from Belgium, and send our sincerest apologies to the King. If we can do that, our greatest danger comes from Chinese and Japanese troops overwhelming the Russians, an unlikely prospect and not one that affects us anyway; the Chinese will not be marching on Berlin from Beijing, and frankly bloodying the USSR's nose is beneficial for us.
Hopefully, peace will come quickly, but as things stand now, we have no other choice. I will wait as long as I can to give Brussels time to form a government before officially declaring our support, but I see little that could change my mind on this matter.
Dealing with all matters Portuguese will have to wait until my return from Paris, whether bearing a message of peace or war, though I ask the Ministry of Defense and General DeWitt to consider seizing the opportunity and retaking Batavia while our forces are already mobilized. Good luck to all of you. We shall need it.

It appears that Belgium will be forced to side with the Germans in the current crisis, a war against the entire European Continent is sheer folly.
But perhaps we could use this event for good, perhaps the Germans, and other allied powers, might be convinced to help us in fighting the Fascists in exchange for Belgian support. What is the opinion of the Minister of Foreign Affairs on this idea?
Furthermore I have to say that, even after this unfortunate turn of events, it's sad to see a longtime Socialist leader like Dupointe return to private life. I wish him farewell and good luck for his future projects.

I announce that I'm going to retire from politics. I believe I did my job for the people, and while some others think I ruined Belgium, I first want to see whether they can come up with something better that doesn't cut on Education and Social Welfare. I hope my friends make it well, and I hope Belgium can once turn into a workers paradise...
