Apparently some have forgotten that monarchists were allowed to go to the polls in the past election.
And they voted for Socialists, liberals, moderates, etc - all of whom in the past have respected the integrity of the Monarchy. But now, these parties, throwing away their previous reservations towards Republicanism, have betrayed their electorate by pressing forth policies of unconditional change. It takes no scientist to decode; not a single platform mentioned the word Republic!
I am sure that our voters knew that we would create a republic if we got the chance. Just like they knew that you would protect the King, that is why you did not get any seats in the Parlaiment. People want a republic and people got one, that is the end of it.
It is good to know you are so diktieren in your references to democracy and "what the people want."
Socialism, as previous administrations have proved, is in no way a reflection of Republicanism. Liberalism as well, has proved loyal to the crown. And therefore, we can conclude that a majority of voters, electing those in Parliament, believed they installed a government (or to their furthest knowledge), which would protect the Royal interests, or at least, not take such massive strides without their own consent.
In which case, may I express my bitter disapproval at how we are not currently pursuing a comprehensive outer-space flight programme.
Further, if people didn't vote for parties on monarchist grounds, then why did the LDP win a fair share of seats?

I do not understand your first statement Mister Gault, but on your second statement: I did not want to imply that Belgium is completely Republican, there are also Monarchists, who have voted for the LDP, which indeed got a fair share, but this only presents that the majority of the Belgian Population is for the abolition of the Monarchy.
I admit, I haven't verified M. van der Werve's statement, but I merely wished to illustrate the that it would be equally reasonable to induce from your manifesto that the government would initiate some sort of fantastical flight research programme as it would be to induce that the government would institute a republic, seeing as both items were given equal space in your manifesto – or so the Rt. Hon. gentleman assure me.

This is utter nonsense. The NDP has been a Republican party since 1851, and the Socialists have long been mainly (though indeed not unanimously) Republican. If the Belgian people did not know what they were getting, why did newspapers carry headlines like "REPUBLICAN SUPERMAJORITY IN CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES" upon the end of the elections? If the NDP and BSU are supposedly not Republican parties, why did they nearly unanimously vote for the Republican proposal? Yes, the LDP is a monarchist party and people voted for it. Nobody is doubting that. It is also the third-largest party in Parliament and not a party of government. Despite what its leaders seem to believe, the LDP has no right to dictate to the rest of the country without a majority in Parliament, anymore than republicans had a right to dictate to the rest of the country upon a Conservative victory. The people have spoken, they want a Republic and we are halfway through making one for them. Kindly allow us to finish that process in peace.

On more topical matters, I support the du Vin plan but still must express my reservations at the construction of Article 8. It is better than the original but still worries me, to be frank.

Im not sure that the last election was done fairly, or an accurate election. With the conservatives going from a strong faction in government to none existent over night? Let alone the number of people who abstained due to their fascistness. It doesn't make sense why a majority monarchist electorate for the entirety of Belgium, that elected a majority monarchist parliament 5 odd years ago would then vote in a republican super majority. I personally don't feel that is even possible to happen and I implore that someone reviews the ballots of last election.

Last election 40% of the population voted for right winged monarchist parties, and 17-25% for left wing monarchist parties and deputies (Some Socialists were Monarchist). That's around 57-65% of the Belgian population, yet now this last election the NDP (republican through and through) as well as significant amount of republican deputies were elected to a total of 72% of the house. This change in 5 years is absolutely absurd and literally impossible. One does not become a republican overnight when the Monarchy has done nothing wrong, in fact it did the opposite and stopped a violent coup d'eta. This leads me to believe that there was either electoral fraud, gerrymandering or some form of harassment on right winged voters and electorates as, it is not possible in any sense of the term to have 40% of the population go from right winged to left wing in one election cycle. Whats more is that 30% of that electorate were hard right winged, ultra nationalistic monarchist which would never be caught dead voting for a left wing republican.
With this in mind I implore what ever body has jurisdiction to do so to annul this current parliament and call an election, something fraudulent clearly happened last election and thus this isn't the rightful government, nor a democratic government.
((Basically, whatever can dissolve parliament and call a new election please do so. I would say this fancier but, I dont have time to look up the governmental bodies currently running that have this power due to the convention.))
