This "Veldist" *cough* Fascist *cough* seems to be doing everything that an actual member of the BNF would do, were there one present. Need I remind us of the long arguments held in this very Parliamentary house over the legitimacy of Veldist Fascism, after the attempted assassination of the prime minister? Indeed, I can almost remember those exact words, Van de Velde, coming out of the mouth of a Fascist deputy... the Baron, p'rhaps?
I suspect this man, even if not an open Fascist, is an ongoing secret supporter. We cannot afford hundreds of thousands more deaths in Belgium. Men like him need to be controlled.

I have done my service to Belgium loyally for my entire life, your suggestion that I was apart of this coup is greatly insulting. So while its no secret my son is involved in these shenanigans I have not taken any part in them and have just been doing my job as a senator.

Baron Alexander Van Den Brucke commits Suicide after bloody escape attempt!
Just today the vocal Fascist General Van Den Brucke has killed himself after having tried an unsuccessful escape from DeWitt's military camp. Eyewitnesses say that he successfully eluded the guards who were controlling him but was subsequently discovered and cornered by his former soldiers and officers, he started a gunfire using a stolen pistol and managed to kill several of his chasers, apparently including some of the high officers who turned on him during the Civil War.
After several minutes of fighting he used his few last bullets to take his own life and avoid capture.
Thus died one of the main conspirators of the 1911 coup and artificer of the Belgian Civil War. Some say that in a sense he indeed achieved what his grandfather tried to accomplish in 1837 and 1864.

Bio: David Osoba comes from the city of Lagos, in the Belgian Colony of Nigeria. When he was born Belgium had just begun its colonial projects, exploiting the land and using the local population as cheap labour, he escaped a life of illiteracy and poor working conditions only thanks to the help of a charitable family of Belgian missionaries who adopted him when he was six, after the death of his Mother. His new family gave him his name, David, and a good private education.
David grew up travelling between the Belgian Mainland and his African homeland, he was educated as a Belgian citizen while also keeping in touch with his origins, which quickly became one of the main subjects of his studies. Once he finished his education David desired to improve the condition of his People, he initially worked through charitable organizations and directly assisted the poorest people of the colonies, but soon realized that it was the very institution of Colonialism that stopped the African People from being free and achieve a truly Democratic rule.
Seeing that only through the end of Colonialism and the granting of greater autonomy to the colonies the African people could progress he decided to embrace African Nationalism. He chose, with the consent of his family, to abandon his Belgian Surname in favor of his current one and joined the BSU, the only party whose rhetoric of equality seemed compatible with his demands of greater Democracy for the African Peoples. With the help of sympathetic Socialists he was surprisingly elected to the Belgian parliament just before the Fascist coup, from here he wants to represent the demands and the needs of the African peoples under Belgian control and ensure his goals of greater autonomy and perhaps even independence for the entire African continent.

I must congratulate you all on our victory over the coupers and express my pleasure with the fact that democracy has been restored in Belgium.
However, I must express some of my concerns regarding several radical motions. I must ask the esteemed chamber, if the current parliament still includes the BNF representatives? If not, the current rump of the parliament does not have neither true legitimacy not the popular backing, since it ignores the will of 25% of the populace that have voted for fascists, making them the largest party. The leadership of this movement participated in an abhorrent coup – but the masses that elected them, believing they are protecting traditional principles and strong Belgium, cannot be punished for this, their voice being ignored.
I must also note that the attempt to push through the convention or referendum to establish a republic using the current rump would be a non-democratic trick. The last 1911 elections have demonstrated the monarchistic preferences of the nation, since 59% of the elected deputies (LDP-CCU-BNF) belonged to royalist parties. Now some representatives of the republican minorities are trying to use the lack of BNF deputies as a favorable moment to pass the motion for a republic, ignoring the monarchist electorate that does not see any neccesity for such a referendum or a convention. It is not acceptable.
I also find comical that some most furious calls for punishing the fascist movement are coming from the Bolshevik part of BSU, whose counterparts have organized bloody revolutions in Spain and Russia and whose leader, Cambille, not so long ago, has called for an uprising against the current constitutional order. We should remember that the leftist radicalism is just as dangerous as the rightist one.
Therefore I believe that the Prime Minister should ask the King to dissolve the parliament and hold new elections, during which the whole nation would be allowed to speak up.

Hmm, I must say... is this not a seizure of property? Companies are the property of their owners, and an involuntary seizure is still that in spite of any compensation. Chapter 2, Article 6 of the Constitution forbids involuntary seizure (while the wording refers to simply seizure of property, such a total ban would be unreasonable. For example, what if someone wanted to sell his property to the state?) of property except in a certain few situations—none of which are relevant for this bill. There is no specific provision in the Constitution on nationalisation which would overrule the referred article.
