To the people of Belgium-
As you all know, the military has suspended the constitution, and assumed control of the nation. While I believe that democracy is the best thing for this country, clearly something has failed. The powers in the government have been planning to neuter the military. This I can not support. Furthermore, in the last year I have been working with the generals, I have found them to be all good, honorable men. While I do not agree with what they are doing, I feel that I must support them. Rest assured, I will work with them to make sure democracy is returned to Belgium.

If all of his collegues were like that, this action would not have happened. While I am deeply concerned by the proposal that a military government be established, as I do not believe that such an institution would best serve the Belgian people or their interests, I am outraged that this nation's so-called leaders have fled Belgium at the first whiff of danger and now seek to solicit foreign intervention into our internal affairs. It is clear that the Prime Minister does not possess the courage or the dignity necessary to lead a horse by the reins, much less to guide our great nation in a time of crisis.

I will remain in Belgium and I urge all patriotic citizens to do the same, rather than follow the weak-willed example of their supposed "representatives".

Baron van den Burke, I thank you for your support. However, violence by roving bands of citizens, whether they fight for what is right or not, is not the way forward. I did this to bring order, not chaos.

1st Calvary Division in Liege​

Mr. Frederick Van Den Brucke, I am apart of the council, I understand your fruststration. But I must order you to Stand down. The coup was to bring down tyranny, not to create more of it. My division in liege is working to calm the situation... Being so close to Brussels many disturbing messages have been recieved to me about the chaos that is the Capital. I am very distraught that my actions have caused such an uproar, but you must heed me. Treat fellow belgians how you would as your closest friend, if they are liberal, reactionary, or conservative. For in the military, we are all apolitical and discreet here.


On other news, I would like to declare that my stay in liege is being a peaceful one, I am and my fellow working with civilian leaders and explaining the situation with them. With hard-cold facts, they are taking the news... Non-violently. I hope my stay in Liege stall enact more order and control then the situation in Brussels. I wish that the other cities take from the example such as this, so that the citizens can work together rather than the Prior where the Previous Government were willing to risk soldier's lives. I have no ill-will towards them, I am sure they would have acted in ordinance as I have. I am going to continue my stay in liege, while also ordering some out-riders to patrol the brim on Brussels to keep the City.... Under optimal control.​

Having heard the plea of Bishop van Buskirk and the reactions of several generals, Baron van Den Brucke promptly ordered to stop any further violence against the Liberals.


"Once again i want to repeat that we did what we did only to protect the population from imminent Jacobin violence. We received alarming news of an imminent insurrection and did what we felt was necessary.

The Army of the Holy Faith completely submit itself to the Chief of Staff and will obey to the military authorities without any question ; if the honorable generals agree we are ready to help them to control the capital and other strategic positions."

((This whole thing makes no sense. This is playing out like a republic not a Kingdom. You cant just have a coup in a HMS government, that is why they are more stable than republics. Attacking the Government is attacking the King. The King is in charge of the military and the military has overthrow His Majesty Government without orders from their Commander-in-chief, not plausible at all. These coups have ruined a good game. Coups should not be allowed in a European monarchy, only revolutions. The King would have all of the traitors hung and the nobles would support the King not these usurpers. This would only make sense in we actually had a jacobin government and constitution, Not a Monarchy and Government loyal to the Crown))

((the fact that we have a king makes coups peculiar, since the King is a NPC that will have to always either take a stance for or against the coup (there were kings who backed coups), and the king should wield a considerable amount of influence))
