Simply changes that make economy more fun (money are still important in mid and late game):

1. Delete production and trade efficiency from technology. (to prevent swimming in money in mid and late game).
2. Delete or reduce increase maintainance of armies, fleets and advisors.
3. Make tax income yearly, not monthly (it will make loans and dept a part of budget management. it makes more difference between production and tax income).
4. Split Tax Income and Tax Efficinecy modifiers. (provincial base tax * Tax Income) * Tax Efficiency = ducats from tax. Tax Efficiency depends on Stability.
5. Give Administrative, Economic and Plutocracy +20% Production Efficiency again and Trade Ideas +20% Trade Efficiency. Buff all National Ideas with Production Efficiency and Trade Efficiency from 10% to 20%.

I wonder whether you had made your own mod in line with these ideas, and if yes, what was the result? "Make economy more fun" is not very detailed description.

yes, I did mod it. Money in mid and late game are still the case as they are in early game. but trade income suffers the most. normaly I'm swimming in money.
So, basically you have removed progress through reaching higher tech levels, and on the other side, removed increasing costs for army and navy maintenance. Then you strenghtened selected idea bonuses. Right? And you found it better balanced. As a human, not swimming in riches... but what about the AI?

I like 1 and 5, these are good suggestions imo:

1. I was thinking recently about this, I'd reduce it to 5% instead of 10% bonus. Most countries outside of Eu and India have money problems, so killing it completely would be simply bad in many cases.
5. I like this suggestion to make ideas more relevant and powerful, its a good way to make a game. All bonus should be 20% now (thats two tech aheads which is sinigificant) or if they decrease the tech progress like in suggestion 1 to 5% than bonuses from ideas should be rescaled to 10%.

These are not so important imo, or not good.

2. nop - these things cost a ducat
3. maaaaaaaaaybe, do we really need this.... probably not
4. i don't mind it, they can just multiply everything with stab. they did try to simplify math recently by removing unnecessary modifiers

yes, I did mod it. Money in mid and late game are still the case as they are in early game. trade income suffers the most. buildings are crucial to make more income.
Buldings, yes. But you had to add incentives for AI to construct buildings, I suppose? Through buldings.txt file?

No. I don't think so. They just made these changes, and they won't get rid of them so fast.
