I was wondering if anyone knows , what sort of economy mechanics are in the game.I feel that economy is the main backbone of a citybuilder and it is something that keeps the player hooked .Cities Xl has a good economy model , simcity's was pretty crappy .

What sort of economy is in cities skyline? Wat do u guys want it to be?

CXL economy was OK I guess. It could have been way more differenciated. Example: To produce a complicated product like a high tech gadget (TV, computers ect) you would need at least 5-6 different base products each made out of different other products. Another group of products would only need processing, like making gas out of oil. Fruits and vegetables would only need harvesting and transport.
I think it was mentioned that you can not trade between cities, as it is possible in CXL. (Can´t find source). If true that would be not so good, because each city would have to be self sustainable. In our time of globalisation that is highly unrealistic.

No, I think what they meant when they said that was that you can't trade between you other cities that you have, but there is an imaginary outside world that will bring in freight, tourists and other stuff if you need it.

Commercial trade between cities and countries are only a part of economy. Economy is bigger than this, for that reason I think Cities XL it wasn't so wonderful.
It would have been better if we could have specialize the city industry and commerce... I don't know, maybe the possibility to do more things that to export,
to import and manipulate taxes too.
Moreover it isn't necessary to say that Cities Xl is dead, economy and everything.
I've played Cities XL but I only like with tons of mods but dead anyway.

Agree with you guys. Wat i was trying to say with cities xl economy was . I liked the fact that at least it had an integration of what tyoes of workers ie- skilled ,unskilled ,exec or elite work in where and how some buisness, office or factory worked after only those workers and how you needed so many pre req for some hi tec and other types of buisnesses, which i found interesting and close to real life.

I hope the cities skyline economy is much better than what we have seen in any game tho.
