There are several complaints about corrupt save games in 1.14.2, but I haven't seen any report like this yet.

I had a save game with Portugal where my economy was at a net +50 gold/month. After this patch, I had to load the game after pressing the "Load incompatible saves" button and the economy was at -260 gold/month.

I didn't see anything in the change log that would indicate this. Is this expected? Or is there a way to recover my save? Spent a few hours on it...

What patch was the original save from?

If 1.13, LA changes are likely the main reason. You may be significantly over FL. If it's late game, the nerf to tech bonuses to trade/production efficiency will also take its toll. It's not a bug, just that income was nerfed in many ways and you need to adjust your budget correspondingly.

If 1.14(.1), something is probably wrong indeed.

purposely waiting a couple weeks to really start a serious campaign, not only for bugs, but also because of a better experience when balancing is done

Here is the screenshot. I can't tell if the expenses rose or income diminished, but before I used to have some income and now, even if I spend the least possible on army and navy, I'm still on the red.

I'm also getting random alliance requests from other nations and one of my colonies just decided they are unhappy, whereas they were happy on the previous patch. I also noticed I'm now unable to talk to my colonies (I can't find the button anywhere and "Interactions" is not clickable). The income issue might have something to do with that.

It seems the most sensible thing to do now is to restart the game... Way to go though, Paradox, for releasing an update that's not optional or possible to roll back and ruins the saves. And it's not the first time this mistake was made!

Most likely way over FL. Simply deleting a part of your fleet should fix it. It could even be a relatively small part, since naval FL is a harder boundary than it was pre-1.14.

Still, I'm interested in why that would be. None of the hotfix changes should cause a FL difference, that I can tell.

Hello, this is probably caused by Local Autonomy now being multiplicative and applied after all other modifiers. (Meaning for example that 25% local autonomy will reduce income by 25% AFTER all the other modifiers, instead of being a modifier like all the others.
Edit: Also the fact that there was a bug where Force and Naval Limit from Autonomy was not capped by Local Autonomy (Leading to them being as effective as 0% Autonomy after a while even if technically capped at 50% for everything else)
