The beta testers will always be ahead of retail when it comes to versions of patches and they will probably also test versions that never will go official as well.

A world map is included, it shows all the provinces. It is bordered by crest for all the countries that appear in the game.

The world map sounds very cool though a poster with the various tables in the game would have been more useful.
Question: any improvements in the interface ? Also is the manual better, does it have all the relevant tables?

Grrr... Now your ordinary folk are ahead of us beta-testers in one way. I want the map too! 
Well actually, that's good news for us beta-testers. That means my "real" game will be in one directory, while my "beta-test" version will be in another. I can continue to mess around with the beta version without fear of screwing up the "real" version of the game...

The EB's in San Francisco now have it too! Think I'll grab a copy during lunch hour and head out early......
And one more thing - Civ3 is now hearby banished forever from my harddrive! The only other "strategy" game that could rival EU is a English soccer game called Championship Manager....for all you soccer fanatics out there......this is a great month.....

Strange... I couldn't find it in Pleasanton. I guess I'll have to wait until this evening and check the stores in San Jose.
The EB in St. Paul, Minnesota had six copies until an hour ago. Now they have five!
The map is very cool! I particularly like all the coat-of-arms across the top and bottom.
Somehow they managed to get the font in the manual even smaller then last time. I'll be blind before I ever play the game.

Alright, I know you guys are going to laugh your heads off, but I figured since Paradox said they were going to great lengths with the new manual, I figured I would actually take the time to read it. (it has a contents page!)
Well mnrunner hasn't kidding about the small print. Combine the small print with the backround maps on each page, and you have an extemely difficult read. It seems that our friends at Stategy First decided to cut a few corners again. (EU2's manual is actually about 2/3's the physical size of EU1's, and has about 28 less pages) Break out the magnifying glasses boys!
I really hope that EU2 sells exceptionally well, so that Paradox can move on to a better publisher and not constantly have their hard work and effort hamstrung by a 2nd rate publisher like SF in the future.
P.S. The game itself is everything I could have wished for. Great job Paradox!

I cannot believe this Gamestop.com has it pushed back to the 20'Th because Strategy First can deliver and EB is upset because the were supposed to get it and didn't. This ridicules no store in the Dayton or Cincinnati area has it.
Well I am home now with my brand spanking new copy of EU2 WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!
