Well, just got off the phone with EB, apparently they got 6 copies in today.

figure I'll just have to duck out of work early, play some, and make a wish list for the first patch

Nope, stopped by yesterday and the weren't schedule to get it 'till at leat the 20th but most likely the 23rd

We can backtrack but it wouldnt be easy to know how advanced your retail copy is.
The patches we use have dates as the patch version whilst the game you have will be a version number (e.g. EU1 had 1.07 on the original NA release).

Whoops, you mean there are already patches out? Are they available? Do you know if it's anything that'll seriously effect our enjoyment of the game (i.e., should we wait a bit until the patches are posted, before we pour hours into a game we may not want to continue?)

Yes, I got mine too. At EB. No one else seems to have it yet, and I only saw a few copies on the shelf.

I like the world map that came with it! Nice little freebie that I wasn't expecting (maybe the regulars knew that would be included). I notice it installs to a Strategy First subdirectory; didn't EU 1 install to a Paradox subdirectory? Or am I misremembering?

As of this exact moment... there are no patches... but they said they would release one when it went retail.... so any moment now?

As mentioned here a patch will be released soon. The patches mentioned above are beta-patches for testing.

Never mind. Just saw Patric's sticky. Looks like a fairly substantial patch. Think maybe I'll wait before starting a serious game. Guess I'm a little disappointed, but I'd be majorly pissed if I hadn't found out until after I'd started a game.

Map is of the EU II provinces. Looks a tad smaller than some 1'6" X 3' maps that I have. Has national shields across the top and bottom.
