Actually just talked to people at Gamestop (I didn't even know we had one here, I do very little gaming - turns out its less than a mile from my apartment..D'OH! ) and they said they expect it tomorrow. Sounds like Gamestop may actually have games in shop tomorrow 11/21 but EB will not get it til 11/24. Of course Gamestop may not get them tomorrow either - they just might not show up, but still a small ray of light.

Well the worst part of my whole EB visit today was that while I was scanning the rack to see if I could find Victoria, the EB girl came out of the backroom and saw me. She came right over and asked me wasn't I the guy looking for "Empire under uhh Vic uhh" yesterday, of course my heart leaped as I thought she had just seen it in the back and it just hadn't been put up. I brightened and said Victoria, Empire Under the Sun. Her next words crushed me. "I think it's been delayed", she says. So she trots up to her trusty computer and says it's been delayed till Monday.

ive called 2 ebs near me both twice yesterday and today, a bestbuy, and 3 different wal-marts. where is victoria.

We tried to cancel our EB order but was told it could not be cancelled because the status was open. We got the same email telling us the game has been shipped. Like you, the UPS tracking number they provided is no good. A check with the local UPS store said that there is no record of a shipment with tracking number.

Evidently EB is faking shipments so they can cut down on cancellations.

I would hate to think that EB would do that. I'd also doubt they'd enjoy the repurcussions of such a scam; wire fraud etc.

More likely, given all the reports of EB status messages on the board the last couple of days, EB's system is a little screwed up with the constant shifting of dates and it might be sending out some nonsense.

Has anyone had this kind of problem from EB before? Anyone think they'll be skipping pre-orders for Crusader Kings after this fiasco?

Could be worse, I worked on a major e-commerce site which accidentaly sent >30,000 emails to one customer over the space of a few hours
