I would hate to think that EB would do that. I'd also doubt they'd enjoy the repurcussions of such a scam; wire fraud etc.
More likely, given all the reports of EB status messages on the board the last couple of days, EB's system is a little screwed up with the constant shifting of dates and it might be sending out some nonsense.
Has anyone had this kind of problem from EB before? Anyone think they'll be skipping pre-orders for Crusader Kings after this fiasco?
Could be worse, I worked on a major e-commerce site which accidentaly sent >30,000 emails to one customer over the space of a few hours
