Hello. This is my second attempt at an aar. My first was pure crap(I tried to conqueror the world as the Golden Horde but failed after a few years). So now I will try as Byzantium with the new option in IGC 2.3. Anyways, here goes.

PROLOUGE
In 1453, the Ottoman empire under Mehmed II seiges Constantinople, to break the 1000 year old empire forever. The seiges lastet for many mounts, but morale dropped for each day in the Ottoman army, desertion became almost a normal thing. In the end of the seige, the Ottoman army collapsed and the Byzantium emperor saw a chance. While the Ottomans was tried and morale was at rock bottom, he lead a desperate attack upon the seigers and won a glorious victory. A peace arrived and in it, the Ottoman emperor gave back Thrace and a tribute of 100,000 ducats. The small Byzantine Empire lived on and thrived. The year is now 1492, and it is here our story begins...

It is the year of our lord and the furture looks bright for the small empire. In the early part of 1492, the heathen Turks declared war upon the fanatic Mameluks. Well, it is only a good thing that heathens kills heathens, but the Ottomans might have the upperhand and conquer the Mameluks and gets to strong. Time will show.
The glorious emperor Constantine XIII have whritten new tax reforms and promotes the Bailiff to a Tax collecter in the capital of Byzantium, Constantinople.
He also tighen the bond between him and his allies, each of his allies have the chance to ingage in a royal marriage and they all want a greek princess in their royal chambers. So Serbia, Venice, Georgia, Moldavia and Wallachia presents a fine prince to each of the greek princesses.
The Pope declares that the so called "new" world should be splittet in two, one part to Spain and the other to Portugal. Crazy Pope.
We see that the Turks might break our old peace treaty, so we raise our Cohort of Light regiment with 13,000 infantry, 3000 cavalry and 20 great cannons.
A war have broken out in the Holy Roman Empire, Saxony and Brandenburg clash againts each other. The reason is that Brandenburg claimed the electorate of Saxony as its own.
Another, but bigger, war erupts. France declared war upon England. The French allies are Savoy, Papal States, Navarra, Poland-Lithuania and Scotland. England is allied to Naples.

Spain sees it chance and joines England in the fray. She declares war upon Navarra and all its allies joins in.
The Byzans diplomat in the Kingdom of Denmark, shares map with the northen folk.
The agressive Spaninards annexes the small duchy of Navarrra but the war contunies.
Portugal agrees to shares its map with the Byzantin Empire and they(Byzantium) gain alot by doing so.
Seeing that the Turks could strike at any time, the Byzantine emperor orders new recruitments, so the Cohort of Light is added with 8000 infantry.
The German war with Saxony on one side defending themselfs againts agressive Brandenburgs on wins. The Electorate of Brandenburg is forced to pay 187 ducats.
With the new maps, the Byzans tries to expand their borders in the south. They sent a couple of trades to the high priced ivory place. The traders lands there and call the coast the Ivory Coast since there is so much of it, however, the locals slaughter them after they set foot there.
Austria and its allies of Bohemia, Hungary, Baden and Wurtemburg declared war upon Venice, and so, a great Christian war breaks out. Venice's allies are Serbia, Moldavia and the Byzantine Empire, but the Empire dont really plan to help alot. If they began transporting their armies away, they are open for an attack by the Turks, so they will only support the war. Wallachie and Georgia dishoners the great Balkan allienace, but Georgia rejoins.
The Turko-Mameluk war is over! The Mameluks are forced to pay 54 ducats and give the provinces of Aleppo and Lebanon to the heathen Turks.
Spain and France returns to a status quo. But it seems that Spain gained more than France in this war.

Scottish fury is not to be joked with. The great kingdom of England is forced to pay the Scotland the province of the Marches.(BIG surprise!!!

Moldavia pays 204 ducats to Wurtemburg for a peace.
England is lucky elsewhere however, they force the holy Pope to pay up with 184 ducats.
Russia have declared war upon the heathen Kazans. Russias allies are Ryazan, Denmark, Crimea and Pskov. The Byzans sent them their support.

The republic of Venice annexes the Electorate of Wurtemburg and gain their province.
The duchy of Ryanzan can't defend themselfs againts Mongol fury, so they pay 64 ducats to Kazan.
Again, the Byzantine Empire send some traders to the Ivory coast, and this time they succed.
The Orthodox country of Serbia pays 74 ducats along with the province of Kosovo to the much stronger Hungary.
It seems that Venice is stronger than beleived! They force the Austrians to pay them 184 ducats for peace.
1496
As ever, the Turks are posied to strike at any time, so the emperor raises the army with 8000 infantry, 3000 cavalry and 10 cannons.
After a small revolt(Unhappyness among the Artisans -½ infastructure) in inner Constantinople the production have been hurt.
Russia have been victorius againts the Kazans and have annexed them.
We increase our newly founeded trading empire by adding the province of Mayumba in Africa to our traders. We now get fresh slaves each day to do the dirty work.
Moldavia pays 175 ducats to Hungary and returns to status quo with Autria. Poor Moldavians.

Russia and all its allies except Denmark declares war upon the Golden Horde, we wish them luck!
Our Othodox brothers in Serbia returns to status quo with Autria.
A white peace have been signed in the city of Lyon in France. The countries of France, Savoy and Poland-Lithuania and their enemies are now mutual againts each other.
Hungary and Venice returns to status quo.
The mighty Pskovians force the heathen and barbaric Mongols to pay them 64 ducats or else they will crush them!
Appently, England was not all done with the Pope, they force them pay them 250 ducats.
