Eastern GFX for Poland and Hungary

Something that bothered me in EU3 all along and apparently hasn't been changed in EU4 is that Catholic countries like Poland and Hungary have eastern graphics ("graphical_culture = easterngfx"). As a result, in every one of their little cities on the map there is an Orthodox temple with onion domes. I don't know why exactly it was never possible to change it in EU3 but I still have some hope that you are going to change this in EU4 - why not do this? I don't know what else is affected by graphical_culture, but I suppose Poland and Hungary are similar enough to Bohemia and Austria to fit "westerngfx".

Agreed, it is just kinda odd looking and out of place. It can't be a momentous task to just define graphicculture to westerngfx. It has no bearing on gameplay as far as I am aware.

Very easy to fix, as each country has a graphic setting in their country file.

Go to EU4/common/countries/ and search for the country in question, then alter this line:

graphical_culture = easterngfx

to the right graphics. Voila!

Same with Prussian Danzig, since it was historically filled to the roof with Prussians, not with Kashubians!

I know it is easy to fix and I did it all these years with EU3. BTW: in EU2 both Poland and Hungary had western graphics. I am not sure what made Paradox change this.

you are just being a jerk. It has nothing to do with game balance, get your facts together. It is just graphics... the one thing which has to do with game balance is technology group.

It's a running joke. In bygone years Paradox and modders used to explain all nonsense about Poland (and the CE region in general) with "game balance". And anyone pointing out obviously wrong things like Old-Prussian Danzig, dirt-poor Poznan, intolerant Poland etc. was immediately labeled as Polish nationalist. At the same time there were lengthy threads about the shape of one Norwegian or Swedish province and everyone was fine with that.

The days of labeling as nationalists is luckily gone, but nonsense in projection of C. Europe remains.

Agreed. The Baltics have no business being part of my future Germanies. Or Polands. Or HREs. And that territory extending into Vlachland and Ukraine don't seem right whatsoever.

But yeah, I kind of have a thing for central Europe in these games....

Which would be accurate for EU4 timeline. Especially since Poland is getting it's own cavalry gfx DLC IIRC, so won't have to use German models.
