Eastern Front pathing shenanigans

So, German forces plunge foolishly into the Soviet territory that was Eastern Poland.

After a while divisions in the north of the line between the Pripet Marshes and Lithuania start taking the train to Danzig, then taking a short boat trip east to Konigsburg or Memel before taking the train back to the line.

This makes no sense . . .

I posted the southern equivalent to that, i.e. a short boat ride from Odessa before taking the train back to Kiev, into the official AI thread a few months ago. It never hurts to report this sort of nonsense again, of course.

Shenanigans is the definitely the right word for this, Italy has been at it from day one . I would be the sort of person that would consider my glass half full, but this sort of AI behaviour is make my glass appear half empty.
As for sending a save file to Steelvolt maybe he could play a single player game at normal speed and experience it first hand, you don't see these things in over night testing and playing the game at speed 5.

I should certainly hope that someone at Paradox is playing the game and actually watching how the AI uses its units. There are several problems in the game that disappear simply by reloading the game so saves will only get you so far (but they do help of course). In the current state of the game, drawing conclusions on AI performance from AFK testing tells you little when several major wars are decided by how badly the front AI breaks down.

Might have been a bit OTT on my post above but you should always send a save file of a bug or what ever problem you come across, sometimes it's hard for the people to do that when they play on Iron man mode though.
As for the testing of the AI silly movement of troops it's not hard to replicate. Unless I'm the unfortunate one to have it in every game I play, and that's not counting the battle planner even thinking about that makes me shiver.

I always save and reload the game on regular intervals to 'reset' the AI. Something I used to do in HoI III as well.

Create any pocket as early as the invasion of Poland and see the unit shenanigans. It drives me insane to the point where I cannot play.
