While browsing folder Gfx\map\units\bmp, I came accross files containing the country tag ALI. Take a look, it's worse it.

This discovery leads me to two questions:

1. Is it possible to use this set of files and change its content to create a supplementary set of units ?

2. Is it possible to create entirely new sets of unit files to implement graphix specific to some countries ? Can I add a set of files whose country tag is BUR, each one containing images of units specific to Burgundy (e.g. bearing the national colors)

BTW: an Eastern Egg is a (hidden) joke programmers code in programs like funny images of the team, etc.

Uhm, I'm sort of sleepy yet so correct me if I misunderstood your Q's but:
1. You can use the Alien-units in game by changing the names of the sprite-files to names containing valid countrytags (ALI is afaik not valid) and use that tag in country.csv for these countries you want to use the alien graphics for.
2. You can add and change in theory unit-files for every country if you have the ability to create convincing graphic-animations for it (so either lots of patience by edittting it by hand or to have some 3d-modelling skills). Alternatively you can 'borrow' units from other games using similar implementation for animations (like civ3 or cossacs) and 'convert' them to use in eu.

For another example of possible uses of aliens - look here:D

And yes, if you can make new unit graphics files you can change quite freely wjich countries will use which units. Ask in this forum for exact details on how to do it (I dunno personally ;))

Hive, I must agree with you because I found reference to Aliens in some threads posted around 2001, but due to the amount of post on the forum, I find out last week (thanks to Nikolai II).
