this game had nothing to do with USA being AI. In compensation for that france had 192 divs with 1940 artillery and 60 extra forts. Japan is beyond uber weak in this mod, they have the power to take india slowly, netherlands and new guinea, and then try to take australian mainland depending on what USA is doing there on how easy that goes. After these operations it will be all Japan can do to hold these acquisitions and fight Russia, UK, and USA all at the same time without china. This game had to do more with poor planning by UK in the early years, he should have either helped france with tanks and air, or built up a massive IC reserve and airforce, and prepare to take on germans with combined allied forces, while USA focuses completely on Japan. again in this game the quick seizure of gibraltor is what I think toppled the tide in africa. dunno why in the world people never try to defend that, when all you must do is buildup airbases there and swamp it with ftr, then airbase strike spain and log bomb seville. Wala Gibraltor will never fall because it is mtn with landforts and germans cannot regain org, interdict, and fight shitty because of 45-50ish percent supply eff.

In fact, I think Allies might win, as bleak as it looks now.

well since von b has made it quite clear allies are no where near ready for d-day, I think that clears up about 20-40 divisions. It all depends on how well russia performs, and if italy can ditch their tc overload. for longer than the first month of war with russia and 1942 infantry doc

I also just don't undestand why people have taken up the practice of not fighting at Gibraltar. While I disagree with you that it is impregnable, it is more than worth while to show up for the ball game, and defend as you describe -- dont forget Germany does have Von Salmuth and a few other Fortress busting leaders Adam. Also, there is an airbase at Grand Canria which should be siezed by Allies right after Spain is defeated or joins Axis. In the end, all you really need is a sizeable force of TP's waiting in the adjacent sea zone and you are ensured against any real loses. In the meantime Axis must prepare this opeation and have the Wermacht shipped over there, and this all takes time. If the allies want to be super cautious they can avoid any loss by waiting til the Axis seems ready to make a try for the rock, and simply leave.

At the very least you have delayed the Axis for 3 months.

It should also be noted that sudden desire of Spain to join the Axis is directly caused by the Soviet DOW on Persia, and the Allies should consider this fact when determining if USSR should DOW Persia at all. If USSR does not do this, and the Allies are prepared to fight it out, the Axis lose even more time influencing, or even having to DOW Nat Spain to get in.

All in all the operation including influencing Spain, and the investing the fortress with crack troops could take 6 months to a year, so if 1941 is near, then the rock might never fall, as long as USSR stays out of Persia that is.

This game needs a permanent UK.

This game seems to be seriously borked with multiple subs in Allies, and now the retirement of the UK. I have half a mind to call it, and start again, and if it were not for the fact Geo has been saving up for his war in the East, I would just say start over.

That said, I would like to poll people who want to continue. I don't think VB can be relied upon to put his heart into this either, and his on again, off again statements here, first quitting now saying he will play again, just make me think this could be more heartache than it is worth. I certainly don't want to waste any more time with that.

So, from my point of view, I would like to continue with a new Japan, and a new UK. I will take responsibility for USA, or find two other responsible players and start again.

Well actually UK and USA bailed out of the game and Cueball, Japs till now, is willing to keep on as USA.
