Easiest way to change a country name and flag (cosmetic)?

I want to change my country name and flag at some point during my playthrough, purely for RP reasons.

Google gives some varying methods on how to do it... is editing the localisation file (not in ironman) the best way to change the name?

Is there an easy way to add a custom flag?

On a side note, I like how this is something we can just do in CK. It is a purely cosmetic thing and adds some RP aspects to the game. Would be nice to see it in EU4 aswell.

Unfortunately that's not possible in-game. It can be done through modding, and it does not change the checksum (so you can still get achievements in ironman).
