So it seems there's no thread where people can post their wishes for moddability, so I figured I'd make one :)

Let's try and keep this to the relatively simple stuff, since modding features are no doubt not the highest priority for version 1.0!

My first requests (from a major overhaul type Lord of the Rings mod perspective, but this would apply to all other fantasy mods too, such as Game of Thrones, Warcraft, Warhammer, Witcher, etc.)

*Allow for 2D static portrait overlays
-3D portraits are great, but 2D portrait modders are rare enough to find - I imagine 3D ones will be even rarer! If you haven't already, please allow for the use of a 2D overlay so that fantasy mods can at least get preliminary elven, orcish, etc. static 2D portraits implemented, either via culture or trait trigger.

*A trait that provides immortality
-Needed for long-lived or immortal races, as far as I can recall, it took many years before this was added to CK2

*Government type modding
-So for example a hybrid form of government that is a monarchy but also allows for the raising of tribal armies via pops

*Population growth differentiation for various "cultures" (which would be implemented as races in fantasy mods)
-Everyone knows that orcs breed out of control if not regularly purged! But it would be an issue if pop growth is only on a city/province level, and not on the pop level - then elven slaves in orc provinces would be reproducing at orc rates?

*Disabling cultural conversion
-If cultures are implemented as races in fantasy mods, it becomes critical to be able to disable cultural conversion

*Cultural bonuses (inherent, not tech dependent)
-To pop growth rate, combat offense/defense, unit upkeep, research, etc.

*Reversable pop growth bonuses for civilisation level
-So for example a higher civlisation level would give negative bonuses, and a lower one would give higher bonuses

Different names for pops, depending on culture (or other trigger)
(something confirmed not to be in the base game, but one can hope)

Ability to disable showing certain unit types in the battle interface for certain cultures
(If I'm playing Gondor, there's no point in constantly showing that I have 0 uruk-hai in my army).

Different triggers for different kinds of rebellions
(Not just civil war for your culture and independence war for other cultures)

In my opinion there should be map editor like in EU IV but more complex and with more possibilities. In general I think it should be easier to make map overhaul mods. I love cartography, so changing the map is really fun for me. I mean even Hoi II had a basic map editor. It's 2019, map editor should be part of every strategy game.

True, the first one is particularly important! Orcs would have slaves, but the good cultures/races would ideally localise the slave pop as "serfs" at worst or "craftsmen" at best.

Cultural independence wars would also be great, but that may be too much to ask for in 1.0 as it's a new mechanic rather than a tweak. It's very possible that something like that can be scripted via events, however, with a little creativity.
