Van der Gent-Can you give me a link on the Internet where that is actually stated (Not that I would not believe you).

Swedish wikipedia isn't hard to find. I've also found that in several other sources through the years. The most memorable to me is a book about the winter war by som english author. Read the book a few years a go, so I don't remember name nor author. But, Swedish Wikipedia, main article about Finland.

Also I've found this:

http://www.popularhistoria.se/o.o.i.s?id=52&vid=506

"Ett sådant samarbete kunde, enligt Wasastjerna, realiseras i form av en tullunion, ett försvarsförbund eller vad han kallade en fullständig ”Anschluss”."

"Could according to Wasastjerna, [a Finnish minister] be in the form of a customs union, defence pact or complete "Anschluss"."

Some members should consider the fact that whole knowledge of the world is not stationed on Wikipedia, and that there still exist another source of information used for thousands of years, called a book.

As I said, both states are going to be included. Followed by adequate historical background.

Just a thing then, who will rule yugogrecia? Serbs or Greeks lol. But what do I worry about anyway. Yugoslavia will end up as a democratic nation or communist nation, so if someone doesn't cheat too much, there should never ever be an unification lol.

I've read that when Estonia was being occupied by USSR in 1940 Konstantin Päts proposed a union with Finland.

From the Finnish wikipedia:
Päts toimitti 1940 presidentti Risto Rytille muistion Viron ja Suomen tasavallan perustamisesta ja ellei tämä olisi mahdollista niin Viron ja Suomen tasavaltojen unionista, mikä torjuttiin talvisodan jälkeisessä Suomessa.

...which means "Päts sent in 1940 to Finnish president Risto Ryti a proposal about forming a Republic of Estonia and Finland and if this would not be possible, forming an union between these two republics, however post-Winter War Finland declined this".

It seems that many guys planned unions and federations during WWII, however none of them really happened. Maybe we should be sceptic about this things: war drives politicians who's nations are losing mad. It may lead plans which they don't want to continue after war.

I agree with you, if those union proposals had such an impact on world history, they would be included in the HOI2 game or atleast total realism mod.

Finland did consider Estonia a part of "Grossfinland" (Greater Finland), so I wonder how much union or outright annexation that had been. However event for union or not, I think Finland should have claims on entire greater Finland.

That would be cool, in case these were the actual claims.

How 'bout Lithuanian claims? Did they had any "Megali Ideas" too? :D The reason I'm asking this is, they were quite big in medieval ages (Polish-Lithuanian commonwealth).

In my opinion, no! Of course in Finland were some mad people who spoke about Super-Finland which borders were on the Urals. But hey: majority of Estonians didn't want to be part of Finland, most of Swedish Finns moved to there in 1950s and after it, in Northern Norway Finns are very small majority, in Leningrad area there's super amount of Russians compared to Finns/Karelians. And only interences of Finnish government that time were in East Karelia.

Wiki:

Greater Finland (Finnish: Suur-Suomi) was an idea which was born in some irredentist movements emphasizing pan-Finnicism and expressed a Finnish version of pre-World War II European nationalism. It was imagined to include Finland as well as territories inhabited by ethnically-related Finnic peoples: Finns, Karelians, Estonians, Ingrians, and Kvens. The Greater Finland idea gained dramatically in popularity and influence in 1917, and lost its ground and support after World War II and the Continuation War.

Yes, but HoI2's territorial claims are also national provinces. It's not same than territorial claim. If we give those claims to Finland, there won't be partisans. And still, even it were quite popular most of Finns never supported it. Also, when Germany annexed always German areas (like Austria or Sudetenland) most of local Germans supported them. Finnish peoples living outside of Finland never supported very videly Finnish expansionism, even not in Karelia.

I don't agree with the Estonia, Russian and Swedish claims. Other is OK. Claimed territory can only be the territory where the national populace of a nation lives. So Finland cant have any claims on those territories (If they would have, there would be no good reason why they shouldn't claim the whole world).

You know, a nation can have several different nationalities. So British claims on Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and India should be removed?

And so on about lots of countries... Some people aren't that happy living under the rulership of another nation. But if it's a similar people they might accept it. And some are forced to accept it.

It's not about liking to suddenly be a part of another nation, but some nations could accept being a part of other nations. Many people have acceptet belonging to another country, especially if they are allowed to take part in ruling the country.

You think if Finland occupied Leningrad there wouldn't be partisan activity. Almost in all occupied territory during the war there were partisans and areas occupied by Finland shouldn't be except (excluding east Karelia).

So with that you want to say that Russians in Leningrad would prefer if they would be in the finish state. Or also that Scots also like it much more to be under the British as to have their own nation? And being forced to accept it, means that you will resist. And that means that the nation occupying the land cannot claim it.

I would aggre with that Green starting finland + claims. Blue starting clims. Teal claims gaind if the Soviets surrender to the Germans. Molotovsk can allso be added.
