Not a good idea to use these maps to determine forest provinces, they are from 1972/74.Miihkali said:
Vladimir II said:Smolensk is smaller city. Thank you for the map Miihkali. But since these forests are not denst, and are matching with marsh terrian, it will remain marsh. But i will keep your map, for Siberia and Russian Far East, as there forests are much larger.

Do not forget all lakes. Arround lakes is noble fertile land. As we cannot add all lakes as independent provinces, this is the alternative way to simulate them.JMJ said:Someone who has more knowledge in Finnish geography could say whether Kajaani and Joensuu are really plains. Consider the industrialisation that happened from 1936 up until 1970. As Miihkali said, today, we could have only reduced forest areas, not spreading of them. So this map is good.ADukes said:Not a good idea to use these maps to determine forest provinces, they are from 1972/74.

Vladimir II said:Sevilla, I used Videns terrain solutions, except forests.
Joensuu - marsh - OK
Kajaani - forest - OK
Vaasa - plains or forest - No - province shape matches marsh terrian position
Alta - Hills or Mtns - highest peak - 1139 m - in our standards too low for mountain - too many marsh parts of land - remains marsh
Luleå - plains or forest - my map shows many marsh terrains with rivers.

Ad i added forests in Russia, based on Delex's map.
