I will die for Gdańsk.Crush3r said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_City_of_Danzig#Population
It says German and Polish official languages.
95% Germans in 1923.
NSDAP in power since 1933.
So Danzig would be more appropriate.

OK...Prinz Wilhelm said:
What's wrong with Danzig? It wasn't even in Poland and with more Germans than poles by a large number, and polish and german the official languages of the free city, I'd go for Danzig. Please don't get nationalistic when making the map.
Now you understand how i feal without Cyrillic letters.mumia said:OK...It will look so weird when Polish forces from Westerplatte will defend German Danzig... I think I'll make two versions of colourscales, one with Danzig and one with Gdańsk

Official local languages. Ukrainian in Ukrainian SSR, Belarussian in Belarussian SSR, Georgian in Georgian SSR (not Abkhazian in Abkhazia)...Miihkali said:Maybe I have missed something, but if I have understood correctly, we use always local name. If so, for example Kazan should be Qazan (in Tatar) and Elista -> Elst (Kalmyk).
EDIT: By the way, are we going to make Danzig free city as independent nation?

YesMiihkali said:So SSR's official language is over local ASSR's official language? For example in Crimean ASSR Ukraine (not Crimean Tatar), Tatar ASSR Russian (not Tatar), Kalmyk ASSR (Russia instead of Kalmyk) or Abkhazian ASSR (Georgia over Abkhazia).
I suggest you that on that alternative colourscale image, SER/RUS/BUL/UKR/BLR/MTN/BOS names could be in Cyrillic.mumia said:OK...It will look so weird when Polish forces from Westerplatte will defend German Danzig... Yes, one province in Israel is needed. As this is the world map, not EEurope map, so whole world must be considered.
By the way, to end with Near East, if we are not going to change province number there, could i then collect province names for Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, oman Yemen. Although some corrections about UAE, Qatar could be implemented.
I planned to draw 4 map images of European map first and then next parts of the map.Vladimir II said:Well?
