Delex said:Autonomous or not that means they would be part of the Reich (Not free puppet states). And I don't deny it would not stay a conflict, but the map has to represent the situation directly after the war. And that does not include Romania having Transylvania. Later in the game both countries can fight for it. And from where do you have the idea that Bretange would become a free nation. I never heard of it, nor read about the idea.
I would rather have the war start 3 months after the fall of Russia. Reasons:Crush3r said:Actually the conflict should start in max 3 days after the victory against Russia, with both states leaving the Axis and Romania declaring war by event, if it chooses to do so. This might be the catalyst for a Serbo-Croatian war.
Well 1 month is also good for me, but I don't know how long a redeployment lasts from the Urals to the Balkans. And you also have to agree that Hungary does the same (If not Romania would declare war upon the axis).Crush3r said:The idea was to quickly swing back armies as Russia looked defeated (Romanian armies wouldn't have marched much past Stalingrad in any case) and catch Hungary off guard. So I say 1-2 months.
I bit of change (To see it realistically from a neutral viev):ROMANU said:and it will begin with Ion Antonescu's Letter/Threat to Hitler claiming a redrawing of Transylvania border... =>
1)Antonescu is right ( Ger forces Hun to give back cluj and bistrita and the state of Székely is created (of course Hun may refuse)) - 10% chance
2) What? NO! (Ger guarantees Hun and -30 with Rom) -10%
3) Deal it with Horty - 80%
The Great Duck said:I think we should have events for the partition of Yugoslavia,and Italy would get Kosovo,Ljubljana,Montenegro and Split (I don't know if Dubrovnik was in Italy or NDH,though),but shouldnt have any claims,as the areas don't have an Italian majority,and have seen a lot of Partisan activity.
I like this even more as mine.Crush3r said:Ok, cool. It fits major rivers nicely, though I suggest splitting Cernăuţi into Cernăuţi and Hotin to differentiate between Bukovina and ex-Bessarabia.
As for the event, I'd say:
1. Force Horthy to cede Transylvania - 10%
2. What? No. We guaranteed the borders - 40% (Hitler stated when asked by Antonescu about the issue that „borders in Europe are never permanent”, so more than 40% is unreasonable)
3. Settle it yourselfs! - 50% (Germany wouldn't care much at this stage, both countries participated in the war already)
They could get the regions by events,but some,like Dalmatia,shouldnt be cores,as that would mean the population would accept the Italian rule.franzer said:I mean pointed out the therritories that were indicated part of the project called "great Italy", the fascism embraced the concept of italian irredentism, therritories considered irredent were chosen following variable criterions:
- cultural/linguistic (there are people who speaks italian, also if a minority);
- historical (the therritory was possessed, in the past, by one of the ancient italian states);
- geographical
In the end the italian desiserata were:
Nice
Grenoble
Corsica
Dalmatia
Corfù / Ionian Islands
Malta
Canton Ticino / Grigioni
Tunisia
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greater_Italy)
Those lands can be cores right from the start since they were settled by Italians at the time (In now day the number is minimal). Atleast the coastal provinces (Mostar and Montenegro Excluded).The Great Duck said:They could get the regions by events,but some,like Dalmatia,shouldn't be cores,as that would mean the population would accept the Italian rule.
ROMANU said:regarding mumia's last map
1) sulina was a great idea, you should insert it
2) I'm not quite satisfied with Transilvanian map
-Alba Iulia is too big (it does not cover the whole Apuseni mountains and Cluj is actually in that province)
- bistrita does not include all Maramures (the idea was that it could be another path for the Vienna dictate where the Bistrita and Maramures regions, highly Romanian populated, would be kept by Rom)
@ delex, Horthy is the leader of Hungary (also the admiral of it's fleet :rofl: )
and Germany was not that much pro-Hun, the Vienna dictate tried to avoid a Hungarian attack, the territory Hun received was much less than what they expected.
not to say, the romanian help to Germany during Barbarossa was larger than Hungary's
Crush3r said:BTW: Do forests exist a a terrain type in HoI2? They could be placed in Bacău and Suceava to represent the forests of the Oriental Carpathians and not break the chain.
