sadly they already announced there won't be any change in Exp Forces and no change in the way
Allies work together. As it is now Germany works well in getting continental allies to help but if
your the US or UK you have to invade and then mark a port and hope somebody shows up after
the party started. You can, at times and sometimes very few times, get exp forces from your
allies but i find they are too late to be of help up front far too often.
It wouldn't be very useful, because of its inefficiency. If you want the AI to follow any semblance of a plan, it's best not to give it many objectives deep inside the enemy's territory, as it will interpret this in a very liberal way and do things which you don't want it to do.Read through the thread and if I missed it, my apologies, but...
I get the impression that the planning map will be for show only(units won't do what you have on it).
Is that the case? If so, is it possible to make it so the planning map automate what we can already do(set objectives and approaches to those objectives)? That's really all I want in the game at this point(other stuff is nice, though). I want to plan operations and click something to set them in motion by clicking "Prepare Operation XYZ" and "Begin Operation XYZ".
It seems like it wouldn't be hard to just make clicking "Prepare Operation XYZ" set the AI objectives based on my plan and set the units to prepare stance, then have begin operation change the stance to attack(or whatever).

Even better would be if you can also set allied obejctives too and maybe can even control this feature by Event/Decsion/Lua..![]()
How about a system where one could use diplomacy for "buying" expeditionary forces and direct control of theatres? Thus a major power could seize control of whole theatres by committing enough diplomatical wheeling and deeling in their efforts to better coordinate their war effort, and then be able to give orders to AI theatres without pushing AI units directly around. Some powers like Britain should start with such arrangements "bought" for Commonwealth powers, other wartime cooperative commands would have to be set up and established.
Ideally such system would take into account the number of brigades your country has in the soil of theatre you'd like to mil-control (as it's already calculated in-game in War Weariness at least this part is completely doable) + relations between the two powers.
This would solve a lot of problems and really give this game a chance to achieve it's true potential.
