podcat said currently its ~60% complete feature wise

What I said was:
Usually when you enter about 60% of features are done or such and it gets updated weekly.

Which is just a hint on the state a project is usually in when betas get access. I wouldnt write about feature progress on an active project on the public forum. its a hard number to estimate exactly anyway.

The game is unplayable as it is. Every nation has been balanced, I can't beat France as Germany no matter what I do, Russia is nigh impossible. My navy gets wiped out in days. I can't do anything anymore, the game is completely broken. Who thought balancing the game would be a good idea? It's not Victoria II, it's WW2, things were not balanced.

Color-code different levels of HQ's like they did in DI:G, S&S and ICE. The stars that indicate an HQ's level should have a specific background. It helps a lot when attaching units to the command-hierarchy.

even the AI can easily achieve all that... germany is still the easiest country in the game. i would say its actually far to easy.

Somehow, I've never been beaten by France as Germany and occasionally was able to beat Germany as France without being gamey... If you would elaborate on what you're doing, people might be able to give you a hint or two.

Nah, Italy is even easier ... or Japan. Germany is being dowed eventually by the Allies / Comintern, pretty much all other nations get away with being hyper agressive and can knock out their enemies one at a time.

I don't know if this is possible at all, but could we get numbers instead of percentage values? It would be very, VERY satisfying in a Göring-ian way, to see how many planes you have in a Fliegerkorps. I read somewhere that you can use the formula 100/engines to figure out how many planes you have in a wing; for example a fighter unit would have 100 planes while strat. bomber units would have 25 planes. I don't know if this came from the devs or the players.

If this was implemented, an air unit of 4 interceptors would show 286/400 instead of 71% strength. You would know that you lost 114 planes in the last aerial battle, and the number rising (through IC spent on reinforcements) would represent heavily damaged planes being repaired and new planes reinforcing the unit.

Would the engine permit something like this?

This would also work incredibly well with tank brigades. 3,000/3,000 barely works for infantry units, it does not work for tank brigades or motorized/mechanised brigades. Do I have 3000 tanks in a brigade? Of course not. Do I have 3000 crew members running the tanks? That means 600 tanks with 5 crew members, which is still too much. Entire Panzer divisions had approximately 300 tanks at best. What would be perfect in this case is, again, numbers. You could even click the brigades to see how many of each model they have.

36/40 Panzer IV
22/60 Panzer III

Wouldn't that be nice? The brigade in this example is upgrading its tanks, and some of the tanks they have are shot, and require repairs.

If these were implemented, more realism could be achieved by having the game keep track of how many tanks of which kind have been lost, and how many enemy tanks have been destroyed.

These would be incredibly nice to have, right?

I like the idea... However, machines (whether tanks or planes) were lost much faster than the people operating them. I have always thought of the organisation as an indication of how many tanks or planes were in condtion to be used for combat, and the numerical strength as a measure of the losses due to combat of men.

Let me give you an example of a panzer division attacking and losing 100 soldiers but 80% of its organisation. I always like to think as this of 100 soldiers dead, POWs or heavily wounded and around 80 % of the divisions vehicles knocked out. These vehicles will then "come back" through regain of the organisation (simulating vehicles being replaced from depots and/or repaired), whereas the soldiers need to be replaced.

You'd need to be playing worse than the GER AI for this to be true. Why not make a separate thread and upload your save just before you attack France, that way people can comment on your setup and/or give tips.

Beating France is very easy. Take some time to learn how the game works, and it's not hard at all. Don't give up!

my concern is the GER AI has been categorically stomped in every single game by the USSR (usually caused by them never firing barbarossa and getting invaded) - kind of dull when every game ends with most of europe going comintern

Axis is favoured in most of the games *cough, cough*, but from what I've seen in multiple AARs axis factions are made much stronger then in RL to give them any chances, like Japan without human China in mp game makes it way to easy for axis, Japan can do basicly what they want.

Do you have any plans for allowing us to route supplies through allied territory? I know it is a tricky thing with the current supply system, but the fact that Germany has to ship supplies around Gibraltar to supply troops in Greece in the June 1941 scenario just seems silly.

in terms of supply a provience can only "belong" to one nation at a time, changing that requires a rubuild of the entire system (pretty much a new game)

Unless it's too late to ask:
For the sake of modding possibilities, please include a new command that would allow the AI to upgrade its brigades from one type to another. This feature is way too powerful for player-only tool, and it would enable all kinds of neat applications when the AI could be told to use it as well.

If it will be Lua-based, then a ratio like for building units could help here.
