Dynasty Modding for Beginners

I just started modding. My first project is setting up a few fictional dynasties in England, with several characters, titles, ect.

What I have done so far:

made a dynasty in dynasty.txt
made character in history/characters.text
gave a title to the character

all this worked fine. In the selection menu of the game I can see the my modded dynasty/character. The only Problem is, that the game won't let me play it.

One thing: this is NOT about the Ruler Designer. I want to set up a whole dynasty, not just one character of a dynasty.

when you say you can see it, you mean you can see the character at realm/character select with the appropriate land/titles you assigned yes?

either you maybe mis-attributed their government type, leading the game to think they are an unrecognized/unplayable government

or you didnt modify the title and its holder in the history files to reflect the charater entry listing what title it holds (most modifications require making changes in 2 locations, minimum, when involving characters)
