I think you may want to look into how the new patch has effected the coat of arms system as the old set family coats of arms have been replaced with new ones. Also, whenever I open the game the first character I select gets this really ugly coat of arms with a horse and all other coat of arms for all the other characters are of the same 3 colours as (Red, black and blue).

Is it just me getting this or is it a known problem?

It's randomized. Have been brought up before. It's not a bug.

It's a bug for me.
CoA change every save/reload atm (even mine one - it's annoying to see my CoA different every 5 minutes).
I prefer the old system.

CoAs are randomly generated. However, it indeed seems that they will be generated with patterns in a specific order with the same 3 colours for all dynasties and that your CoA will only save/load if your character was edited through the Ruled Designer DLC. I will pass your observations along internally as I am not sure if this is WAD.

I ve never bought the Ruled Designer DLC (and not planning to).
I am talking about what I am experiencing with a Volga Bulgars (muslims) game atm:

- my coat of arms is random every save/reload;
- sometimes my CoA is muslim and sometimes it's christian;
- my main title is 'duke', not emir;
- other incongruences like bastards children in my family.

Also, in the historical starts, I observed some coa's are exatly the same - for muslims.
one muslim lives in sicily and the other one in spain and they have the same random coa for some reason at the start, even if they belong to the different dynasties..

I meant that it currently seems like Coat of Arms only save and stay the same once reloaded for characters edited through the Ruler Designer DLC, which doesn't seem to be WAD. There are currently a few reported issues with the CoA system so all these related issues should hopefully get fixed with the upcoming patches.

This has also struck my game... hopefully the following details will help:

- I was playing a game with all DLC pre-sword of islam... I wasn't using any customed designed rulers... at CoA were fine, including the dynasty pack ones.
- I bought the three newest DLC, which steam promptly installed.
- In my current game, all of the dynasty pack shields turned solid black. Other shields didn't change.
- If I start a new game, all of the shields seems semi-randomised... except that they are almost all in black, burgundy and white. Some dynasties have the same shields, and some dynasties seem not to change (for instance Capet, which is a black horse on a red and black background rather than thier correct dynasty shield.
- Turning off the lastest three DLC does not fix this.

Hopefully you can fix this one... it seriously dents the feeling of immersion.

Have the same problem. Everything was working fine for me until I bought the African units pack. I uninstalled and deleted everything from the Crusader Kings II folder and reinstalled. Problem remains. I think the problem is somewhere in the separate paradox folder located in my documents. Will test this tomorrow.

Same here. All of my dlc just died.

edit: I think I figured out mine. I started the game without an active internet connection. Apparently, you must be connected to the internet to play the DLC with the gamersgate version.

Please start a new thread when you are reporting a new issue.

You dlc not working has nothing to do with this bugreport.

EDIT
Also, when you want to report that something doesn't work, then please be as specific as possible. So how exactly doesn't it work ? What doesn't it do that you think it should do ?
