Seriously? Why is all the hate for de Normandie? Why does everyone hate my lovely normans? :p
Apart from the very obvious fact that they are OP and conquer England %99 of the time, as long as William stays alive.

Hating on the Normans is very historically accurate.

The Pope hated having uncontrollable princelings in Italy, the Byzantines hated them due to the common Norman tactic of picking off chunks of Byzantine territory, the HRE hated them for usurping lands it felt belonged to it, the Northern Italians hated them for being foreign.

Ok, maybe Venice. Venice might have liked them as they seem to have had no ships of their own, so were always hiring Venitian Fleets.

I just LOVE the d'Hauteville, they were badass in real live but also in game. They got a really fun starting posistion and got tons of good Generals wich I love, one of the best looking CoA in game is an added bonus. ;)

Fatamids are the only dynasty i truly hate, no explanation neccesary i think :)

Would it be sensible to add some sort of small relations modifier between same-dynasty couples? The game should have some way to help stop such marriages, even if they should still be possible.

Perhaps a piety and relations hit for doing so?

What is the reasoning behind this? Historically, marriage between people of the same house was not that big of a deal, if it made political sense. Siblings, cousins and parents intermarrying might raise a few eyebrows, but even then it was usually accepted if there was a solid reason for doing so--really, the primary bad thing about marrying someone of your dynasty is that it wastes a perfectly good opportunity for an alliance with someone else.

I don't see why everyone on here seems to want to penalize incest so badly.

I see a hell of a lot of niece-uncle marriages, especially in Sicily, leading to extremely inbred children. In general I'd agree that incest shouldn't be penalized into oblivion, but spawning a severely inbred child with a close family member like an aunt or an uncle should perhaps give the dynasty some kind of malus. Though I'm thinking more generally than just in terms of marriage. In my current game, when I took over as my heir after a succession, I discovered he was having an affair with his own daughter, and he went on to have four severely inbred kids with her during his reign. Aside from the relations hit with his wife, there wasn't any real penalty to this, when it would be sensible to expect an excommunication or a pitchfork wielding mob. It would be cool if there were some additional consequences for the worst cases of incest.

Ok, putting it that way... but hey, that's exactly why i love them in the first place! For some reason they always try to go around picking off chunks and bits of land here and there. They don't care about whoever says whatever and etc. also, island invasions. I have something for them. They look so full with opportunities. Like... why land at Middlesex and go up when you can defeat the alreayd damaged norse/saxon army in York and then have a much easier time? Or maybe why not go get the Wales as well when you have the opportunity? Playing as Norman's is fun!
Aaaand, VENETIANS! If they approve, then i approve too!

I like House Halani because they have a tendency to hold out somehow after the Duchy of Alania gets attacked by everyone. I also like seeing if House Hwicce managed to take over England and I like House Terteroba of Cumania just because they were my fairly benevolent lieges for most of a game. I don't like the Capets because they maintain such a frustratingly stable realm at times, and I hate the Alhomads an Almoravids because they're very difficult to defeat because of their size. I'm not that fond of the Arpads either because they messed up my marriage alliances on my last game.

The Alans are ridiculously good fun to play as, but you need to submit to a liege (generally the Cumans, Georgians or Byzantines) immediately. Once you do that, things are much easier. Trying to remain independent is almost impossible.

I submitted to the Cumans and went Tengri back before SoI. I managed to usurp Cumania just before the Golden Horde came. I got frustrated then, and after managing to fight them off I gave myself e_golden_horde and expanded into Byzantium.

The negative traits resulting from incest seem like a fair penalty as it is. Perhaps the AI needs a rule that makes it more reluctant to have repeated incestuous marriages (if it doesn't already)? You are right, though, it may add a bit of flavor to make incest-related events. Even if they happened more often, there's always going to be some person disapproving of it.
