Dynasties you love/hate and why?

For me my favorite dynasties in vanilla are, the Kommenos, Ylvings, and the Arpads. The dynasties I hate the most are the Fatmids and the Doukas (They never get overthrown damn it)

In AGOT my favortie dynasty has to be the Targaryens without a doubt and the one I hate the most are the Lannisters (except Tywin and Tyrion).

So whats your favorite/most hated?

Favorites: de Rennes, Wessex, Yngling, af Munsö (particularly if they stay pagan), Trpimirović and Kado of Cornwall's little family.

I dislike the Godwin clan (an awful, dishonorable bunch who breed like rats in CK II) and the Árpáds, although in one game I did see a Frankish branch ruling the kingdom of Sicily (including Epirus/Albania) which they'd actually managed to form at some point. I though that was pretty cool, and very original.

I am a fan of the Jimena dynasty, if only because murdering and inbreeding your way to owning all the Spanish crowns is hilarious.

Doukas just maintain their hold on Byzantium too strongly in CK2, so not really a fan there.

I love Wessex and Murzuphylos.
I hate though the Doukas for their tendency to not lose byzantium or regain it after losing it for one generation.

I love the Godwins, because I have a special place in my heart for those crazy Saxons with names like Æthalbehrt, Ælfwine, or Sigeric. Rolls right off the tongue it does! Besides, fun campaign to play and it's nice to know that merely surviving past the very first year of the campaign you're already re-writing history.

I hate the Ylvings of Denmark, because I've played Sweden too many times. They breed like rabbits, they never go away, and they always hate you.

I second that, and by the same token I despise the d'Hautevilles. That's mostly from CKI where they would just stomp all over my poor Spartenos dynasty though.

Favs
van Vlaanderen-my firstreal game in CK2 with potentially one of the richest Duchies and a dynamic starting position. Plus they are the strongest Dutch family, which is pretty sweet.

de Valois-You start with Vexin and Amiens which creates a challenging starting position since you are de Jure Normandy and the King always creates the Duch of Valois and keeps it for himself.

Dulo-The only Cuman faction you can play as. I love me some Volga Bulgaria and you get to Holy War the Rus as much as you like.

de Forez-Great starting position and you get the awesome County of Lyon.

Godwin-Interesting history and Saxon England can become a very safe and stable realm if you survive the conquest.

Hate
Ludowinger- I'm not sure why but they always become Emperor. I don't now how and I don't now why, but in my last 5 games there have been long lines of Ludowinger Emperors.

Capet-The greatest Dynasty in Europe and it is always so fun to wipe them out.

Fatimid-For obvious reasons

de Normandie- I`m a big fan of the Normans and the Duchy itself, but I hate how AI Willliam ALWAYS conquers England unless you actively intervene.

I have a soft spot for saving Capets or de Normandies if either of them lose their crowns. Really any of the major families if they are in danger of going extinct i will bail them out.

I hate Salians and Doukases because in my games they never lose their respective empires without my direct involvement.

Favourites are D'Anjou, Dunbar, de Lusignan, de Vivar and van Vlaanderen. I'm also fond of some of the minor dynasties like de la Marche, de Perigord, and Drengot.

I've developed an antipathy for the de Hautevilles, despite my appreciation for Guiscard. When Sicily survives I just see centuries of de Hauteville inbreeding. Damn but those people love to crawl all over each other. I despise the d'Estes because every duke of lombardy in my HRE games is a bigger recalcitrant bastard than the last one. And the Almoravids are my eternal rivals, for their capacity to steamroll Aragon and start squatting in Acquitaine.

I couldn't tell you why, but they always seem to leave me alone. So I wait until The Duke of Apulia gets into a war before snatching Capua from his relative. Then it is just a matter of waiting for the right time to strike at Apulia and Bari, snatch away his Duke title, leaving a handful of independent, weak counts to mop up. I find that if I can secure the boot before the inevitable jihad happens, I am in a pretty good position to survive.

The Capet dynasty (especially the main line) isn't particularly strong in the game. With the factions system they get overthrown very easily, especially at later start dates where England has a presence on mainland France. I haven't seen them survive for the past few games. In one game they even got (almost) completely wiped out, with the King having only a barony left in the HRE. With his demise the crown of France naturally fell into disuse, and the country itself was split between England and Scotland. The Capet dynasty went into extinction after maybe 2 or 3 generations where no male heir was produced, and with the family's highest title being a baron, failed to secure any matrilineal marriage.

I love de Normadie... because i love de Normandie! Really, it's cool to simply stay Norman and create a Norman Angevin Empire!
And i hate the van Vlaandaren's. Those pesky rats, they revolt no matter what, they go independent and then join the HRE. And if they don't, the HRE makes them join.
Also, Jimena's. A couple lucky inheritances and they become too powerful. Unless muslims play aggresively and kill them before 1100.

I love the Torchitorio(it's wrong, the correct dinasty is "Lacon-Gunale", Torchitorio was the second name of the father of Mariano, count of Arborea), palaiologos and Ynglyng dynasties and i really hate "de Normandie", "Fatimid" and "d'Hauteville"

Seriously? Why is all the hate for de Normandie? Why does everyone hate my lovely normans?
Apart from the very obvious fact that they are OP and conquer England %99 of the time, as long as William stays alive.
