Well, well! After 2 years of EUI I had my first dynastic inheritance yesterday afternoon. Playing as Brandenburg, I had been cultivating Sazony for a diploannex for over 20 years. Annoyingly, their alliance with France, Austria and Genova (which I afterwards beat soundly
) was getting renewed all the time, due to intensive warfare. But then, all of sudden, I inherited them! What a nice suprise.
How often do you experince these dynastic inheritances. I suppose that one of the reasons it succeded was a 190+ relationship with Saxony, but then again I tend to diploannex a lot, so I usually have pretty good a relationship with several neighbours, and I have still never tried inheriting anyone.
Another thought: Does the legitimate monarch have to die without any heirs (i.e. before the set date), before a dynastic inheritance can occur?
