Dynamic province names

Hello. I've noticed a certain thing in Polish dynamic province names that's been bugging me. Some provinces, when owned by a Polish nation, contain letter "ó" in their names (the only Polish letter supported in EUIV) while the others don't, even though they should. And so we have Kijów, Charków, Królewiec and Czernichów but we also have Krakow, Tarnow, Rowne and Ostroda etc. I've allowed myself to edit the polish.txt file and fix those province names. I've also added dynamic province names for Riga (Ryga) and Narva (Narwa). I attached the fixed polish.txt file to this post. I also have a suggestion regarding a certain province called Ingermanland (ID 34). Its name come from Swedish even though it's held by Russians most of the time. My suggestion is to change its default name to its Russian equivalent: Ingria and add Ingermanland to the list of the Swedish dynamic province names.

I've updated the polish.txt file with a few more provinces: Mogilew (Mohylew), Mazyr (Mozyrz) and Severia (Siewierszczyzna). I also fixed dynamic province name for province Brest.

Thanks! I've just found out that the province Kholm (ID 311) doesn't change its name when held by a Polish nation even though it's supposed to. I don't know the reason of it, though.

You should've changed dynamic name for #49 - Neumark. Lubusz is south from the province's border, so it would fit better as a dynamic name for #2969 - Sternberg(for which you haven't found any dynamic name). Polish Neumark could then be named Gorzow.

That's right. I forgot to mention that. Just not Gorzow but Gorzów.

Weird. It's working for me now as well. I don't know why it didn't before.

Yeah, I know, but does the game support "ó"? I think I saw that in Glogów (ł isn't supported for sure), but I'm not certain.

Read my first post. "ó" is the only Polish letter supported by EUIV.

Also, I found one more thing to change. The Polish name of the province Mansur is Kodak. I'm assuming it's a reference to the Kodak fortress built by the order of the Polish king Władysław IV Vasa. The problem is that the Polish name of the fortress was Kudak, not Kodak.

Hah, right. I probably got confused by lack of ó in province names such as Krakow and Rowne.

Alright. I added the aforementioned changes: Neumark is now Gorzów (Polish name of the province's capital - Landsberg) and Sternberg is now Lubusz (this is the actual province where the Lubusz land as well as the town Lubusz itself is). Also fixed the dynamic province name of Mansur from Kodak to Kudak.

Instead of using Gorzów, why not Nowa Marchia?

Also is there a reason for the game not accepting certain characters? In my mod I've added a lot of new dynamic names and sometimes the same letter works fine for one province but badly for another, e.g. Î works okay for Île-de-France but not Îles de la Manche.

Because it was a German name and it had nothing to do with that region when it was ruled by Poland. I'm pretty sure if Poland had reclaimed that region at some point in history, they wouldn't have kept the name Neumark and just translated it to Nowa Marchia.

I've decided to add several more Polish dynamic province names to my already expanded it as well as change a few existing ones. Regions affected include Bohemia nad Moravia, Lusatia, Moldavia, 2 provinces in Hungary (Érsekújvár and Marmaros) and the entire Russia and Ural regions. All changes to polish.txt file (comparing to the previous version above):

So I decided to go a bit further and edit history files for 2 Polish provinces: Tarnow and Lwow to include missing "ó" in capital names; Krakow province already has "ó" in its capital name.

I've bben wondering if perhaps some important provinces outside of the general proximity of Poland could also be given dynamic names. Eg. Konstantynopol (Constantinople) Paryz (Paris) or Londyn (London). It wouldn't be too difficult to cover most of Europe.

True. I don't feel like doing it right now but if you want then just grab my already edited polish.txt file (the one 3 comments above, not the one in the original post) and add some more provinces. Just remember about "ó" (only supported Polish letter).

@Trin Tragula It looks like you guys have added an obsolete version of my dynamic province names. The most recent one is in post #14 (also check post #15). Can you add them in the hotfix patch (provided there will be a hotfix patch)?

@Trin Tragula Changed the Neumark's name from Gorzów to Santok since apparently the name Gorzów wasn't used until 1945 and Santok was an old Polish fortress next to which the city of Landsberg was built.

Would love to see more polish dynamic names. Especially like You wrote before: Konstantynopol, Londyn, Paryz, Madryt,Sztokholm etc
