TL;DR: Devs please add dynamic province names for Ruthenia.

Just to sum it up: there is croatian "Kijev", czech "Kyjev", lithuanian "Kijevas", polish "Kijyw", russian "Kiev" in 1.22, but no ukrainian "Kyiv".

Dear devs, you've created country with specific ideas. Isn't that logical to add an accordinate romanization?

My proposition:

Id = "Proposed_dynamic_name" #Current_default_name [#Ukrainian_name] [#COMMON]

162 = "Beskydy" #Zemplen #Бескиди
261 = "Halych" #Halicz #COMMON
276 = "Mensk" #Minsk #Менск
277 = "Berest" #Brest #Бересть
279 = "Volyn" #Volhynia
280 = "Kyiv" #Kiev
281 = "Podillia" #Podolia
282 = "Dashiv" #Yedisan #Дашів
283 = "Zaporizhzhia" #Zaporozhia
284 = "Krym" #Crimea
285 = "Surozh" #Caffa #Сурож
289 = "Chernihiv" #Chernigov #COMMON
291 = "Kharkiv" #Kharkov #COMMON
297 = "Bransk" #Bryansk #Бранск
299 = "Voronizh" #Voronezh #Вороніж
771 = "Vitsebsk" #Vitebsk #Віцебск
1756 = "Bilhorod" #Bessarabia #Білгород
1941 = "Turau" #Turov #Турау
1943 = "Vinnytsia" #Bratslav #COMMON
1974 = "Oleshky" #Yedishkul #Олешки #COMMON
1945 = "Konotop" #Severia #COMMON
2405 = "Naddnistrianshchyna" #Bender #Наддністрянщина
2406 = "Inhul" #Ingil #COMMON
2407 = "Pereiaslav" #Pereyaslav #COMMON
2409 = "Bakhmut" #Bahmut #COMMON
2412 = "Domakha" #Kyzyl-Yar #Домаха
2961 = "Lviv" #Lwow #COMMON
4244 = "Trubetsk" #Trubchevsk #Трубецьк
4245 = "Viazma" #Vyazma #В'язьма
4246 = "Mstsislau" #Mstislav #Мсціслау
4247 = "Zhytomyr" #Owrucz #COMMON

#COMMON marks proposed dynamic names which match common English names. It means that, according to Wikipedia, their usage in contemporary English is prevailing. Therefore changing accordinate English defaults seems prudent.

In a few cases I've transliterated from Belorussian instead of Ukrainian.

Tsyurupynsk -> Oleshky #Tsiurupa was born in 1870
Hmelnieckiy -> Khmelnytskyi
Kolomiya -> Kolomyia
Svitlovods'k -> Svitlovodsk

Ruthenia leader names:
Trfimenko -> Trofimenko
Hlushkov -> Hlushko
Cholesky -> Choleskyi
Mytropolsky -> Mytropolskyi
Oleinik -> Oliinyk
Poretsky -> Poretskyi
Potapow -> Potapiv
Sharkovsky -> Sharkovskyi
Shatunovsky -> Shatunovskyi
Sleszynski -> Slezynskyi
Voronoy -> Voronyi

Zaporizhzhia ship names:
Dnieper -> Dnipro
Orekhov -> Orikhiv
Pologi -> Polohy
Mikhaylovka -> Mykhailivka

PPS. Sorry for format gore. How I'm supposed to insert tabs?

Good idea, whenever I try to play as a Ruthenian country I have to always manually rename provinces - even the obvious ones like Lviv... and I'm not even Ukrainian so it's pretty annoying.

1940 = "Beskydy" #Belz #Бескиди
This one looks strange, Beskydy (or Beskidy) are a part of Carpathians mountain range. Belz is just Belz (Polish Bełz).

Another good catch. I wanted something Lemke, they were mountain ethnos without major cities (not of my knowledge anyway) so I've tried Beskydy (same with 2405 Naddnistrianshchyna instead of Bender). But that's misplaced, should be 162 Zemplen. 1940 probably better remain Belz.
