Hmm, yeah I suspected that, but search is... :eek:o

Maybe someone should make a sticky ;)

Just try both by making 3 installations of CK DV

1. CK DV vanilla
2. CK DV TASS*
3. CK DV DVIP

*a.k.a. The Real Improvement Project ;)

Well, those are pretty biased suggestions by you 2

1: "so, which mod should I try?"
2: "mine!"
3: "no! mine!"
:D

Now, back to topic, I tried DVIP first (only got the game 1 and a half month's ago), because I read it was more similar to the vanilla (=unmodded) CK DV.

Truth be said, I've just installed another copy of CK DV and TASS to give it a try. Have not tried it yet.

DVIP is about extending the main game without introducing too radical changes (although I'm gradually changing more and more in the addon), TASS is about remapping the cultures, duchies, and kingdoms from scratch, and also includes changed graphics to make it all fit together.

TASS is a good mod. If Veld had created it before I did the first DVIP, I probably never would have bothered with it... but we went into different directions with them.
Probably if CK-DV allowed unlimited culture and duchy tags, we would be working together on a mod for it but as that unfortunately is not the case, you'll have to pick which you like best.

TASS-mod and what it adds in comparison to the vanilla-game.

The Alternative Scenario Setup Mod

tassfeatures.jpg

This is The Alternative Scenario Setup Mod, discussion thread

What does this mod contain

Kingdoms
The kingdom setup has been revised and new 'creatable' kingdoms have been added, like f.e. Novgorod, Kievan Rus, Livonia and The Isles

Dukedoms
The duchy setup has been revised and new dukedoms have been added, like f.e. Limburg, Bar, Rügen, Neopatras, Hercegovina and The Palatinate.

Counties
Several scenarios (especially the 1066 scenario) have now, new counties that can be played from the start, like f.e. Kleve 1066 (von Kleve dynastie), Lecce 1066 (de Conversano dynastie), Brescia 1066 (di Bergamo dynastie), Buchan 1066 (McRuardi-dynastie)

Cultures
The cultural setup of all the scenarios has been changed and new cultures have been added, like f.e. Lombard, Breton, Cornish, Norse-Gaelic, Frisian, Saxon (low-German), Flemish, Croatian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Carinthian (Slovenian), Albanian, Vlach, Kurdish, Berber and Nubian.

Economy
The province base income have been revised. The very rich counties, like f.e. Venice, Byzantion, Cordoba, have been made 'poorer' while counties that surround them have been made a bit 'richer'. Also some regions (Britain, Ireland) have a complete new income-setup.

Traits
This mod has three new traits, Patriarch, Homosexual and Epileptic

Events
This mod has a lot of new and modified events, f.e. this mod contains the SMACK-events, some of which have been modified. But it also has 'homosexual-events' , 'patriarch-events', 'epilepsy-events', 'inplausible-demesne events' and so on.

Also the Crusade-events have been revised. There are only 4 Crusade-targets left:
1. Jerusalem
2. Santiago
3. Rome
4. Byzantion

Characters
In all scenarios dozens of historical characters have been added to the game, also existing ones have been modified. Also there have been added new 'friendship', 'rivalries' and alliances.

Graphics
This mod also contains Gratianus Face Mod and Tunch Khan Muslim face mod, which adds many more possible 'face-combinations' to the game.

Scenario
This mod contains two new starting dates in 1066.

One starts on January 5th 1066 where Edward the Confessor is king of England.

The other startingdate is January 8th, 1066. Harold Godwineson is just crowned king of England.

In both 'scenarios', William 'the Bastard' is still only duke of Normandy. Can you do what he did and become King of England ?

In Norway, king Harald Hardraade rules. While Mecklemburg is ruled by its first christian prince, Gottschalk and the duchy of Brittany is ruled by Conan de Rennes.
