If I form Netherlads and change government to republic after I proclaim eberkaisertum as king of burgundy will i remain an emperor?
Yes, after Erbkaisertum the only things that can cause you to stop being emperor is you becoming a subject, or you getting annexed.
Really? I haven't got AoW yet, so I can't check that (the patch itself shouldn't have any official religions in the hre), but you used to be able to become Sunni and still be emperor. And, since the 1.8 patch, when you convert to protestant or reformed.

I know that, but I thought Erbkaisertum would still override that.Because of the reformation leagues, the emperor will always be catholic, until and unless the protestant league wins, in which case the emperor will always be protestant.
As far as I know, in this patch, there are no other flavors than that - I don't think you can ever become a reformed emperor, but I could be wrong.
Hurray! Will test it later today then

There is event 'Peace of Westphalia', IIRC it fires when a religious war ends in white peace, which enables becoming HRE to any Christian denomination.Because of the reformation leagues, the emperor will always be catholic, until and unless the protestant league wins, in which case the emperor will always be protestant.
