They have allot of manpower and good resourches, they also have quite allot of prestige most games i play, sometimes even more than Holland itself.

In my opinion, they are unbalanced towards Holland. British india and Great britain are beter balanced in the fact that Great britain always stays stronger.

What sorts of rankings are you experiencing them get? Typically I can see the Netherlands easily in the top 20, usually nearing the 10s. I haven't paid much attention to DEI's ranking, though I would've expected them to have been less due to the superiority of the (mainland) Dutch economy (industry, nearly 100% national POPs, high literacy rate, etc.).

Saying that, maybe it is not the industrial score which is the problem? Perhaps it is because DEI can field a larger military, plus the prestige from it's expansion?

Even when i defeated holland as germany and DEI turned into a unciv nation they still were going strong, lots of manpower means they can use those 1 army stack guerillia tactics very well.

Their navy is very annoying, although they don't expand much. In my Holland game i had to take siam to get some manpower going, i think DEI should be turned over to Holland again so you don't have to warmonger all the time just to get some men in your recruitment pool.

I see the same thing with british india. their military is even more powerfull then the british

This is fairly istorical. The British military has contained huge amounts of Indian soldiers (in fact, Indins may have made up the majority) from the mid-1800's to Indian independance in 1947. Indian troops were used for the Opium Wars, expansions in South Asia (India, basically), and even expansions in Africa. Also Indian divisions were notable in both World Wars.

I agree. The 19th and early 20th century's British foreign policy almost entirely revolved around its interests and concern with India. How is this simulated by having an independent entity ruling India?
Well it is not strictly "independent". The game mechanics make it seem that way, but it is bound to the UK throughout the entire game via the event setup.

Anyway, this setup depicts the difference in administration between the UK and India. India was also considered on a different level to other colonies, and it's economy was definitely seperate from the UK (even had it's own currency).

That is true but what does the UK get to gain from India? It'll have no access to Indian resources and defending it would be of no particular concern, which renders foreign policy and the geopolitical situation moot and uninteresting. British preoccupation with Russian expansionism and German shipbuilding and imperialism, the securing of Egypt and the Suez Canal, the Opium Wars - you name it - all concerned in some way or another the British hold over India (and the ability to directly exploit their resources rather than simply buying them off the WM).

British capitalists gain a LOT of money every year from India. If India is lost they don't get this money. This represents British commercial interests there, and hence a reason to support keeping India in-game.

In one of my games, Canada broke its satellite status and revolted (Pre 1867). No worries though, the revolt was put down by India, who annexed Quebec City and made Canada their satellite! This is certainly not an appropriate outcome.

Could we script some kind of automatic transfer if satellite status events (similar to the automatic peace events for Minors) to prevent this?

Well we are planning on reworking the status between ENG-IND and HOL-DEI in future versions. The reason why the latter both are not satellites is due to game mechanics about declaring war. However, there are some ways around it, which we are going to be working on.

This should help solve the issue which you refer to, as well as ensuyring the alliance is maintained.
