Once more I decided to indulge myself in pleasure of EU4 demo. Out of all 4 nations presented in the demo my most favorite is Portugal. I don’t know exactly why but exploration and colonization (read as: spreading the one and only true Catholic faith across the world), brings a happy smile to my face.
So I explored and colonized the world beyond, not minding any attention to the bustle and hassle of Europe. In 1505 I decided to take a look around the global map.
Basically 1505 was a year that everything in Europe was preceding pretty standard, so I turned once again my attention to the quest of finding El-Dorado.
As we all know cities of gold are not easy to find ( pesky Indians hide them well :ninja
, so in 1512 once again I decided to stroll through Europe. Because why not.
I was like: “What The Fudge?!” For some reason Commonwealth was waging war with 90% of HRE + Hungary. I got intrigued and started to randomly click buttons and Religion map popped up. Apparently Protestant Reformation kicked Europe in the balls very hard. There were 58 protestant provinces of out of with 43 belonged to Commonwealth :glare: ( still talking about year 1512). The entire freaking Commonwealth converted to Protestant in merely 7 years and we are talking not only Catholic provinces but also Orthodoxy.
I played Ottomans and I know that converting is “easy” but it take freaking forever to convert hostile culture Orthodox provinces. Even with +3 stability and inquisitor advisor it takes 37 ( or more) months to convert a single Orthodox province.:glare:
I know that Protestant Reformation spreads like wild fire but in comparison France had 3 protestant province. Norway and Sweden both had also 3 and they both converted to Protestant although they had so few of them. Rest of protestant provinces were located around Commonwealth borders. Further more Commonwealth become Defender of Protestant Faith… 1512 was definitely a funny year for Europe.
Ok now is time for some serious questions.
Is it normal for Protestant Reformation to spread THAT fast in a random country ? Or does Protestant Reformation mechanic “ignite the spark” in one Catholic country and engulf it whole, no matter how large the country is and what religion it replaces? Does the Reformation spread around that “lucky” country afterwards faster?
Share your opinions and experience from demo if you have time. Thanks.

- Aragon was incorporated by castile and thus behold the Spain. ( BAM …Royal Marriage just to be sure we are on the good side of our larger friend.)
- France and England are fighting … again.
- HRE… NOPE we are not going to touch that even with 10 feet long stick.
- Ottomans are slowly but steadily conquering Balkans.
- Poland and Lithuania united into Commonwealth. It’s pretty standard that AI does that so again nothing fancy.

- Spain is engaged in a pretty epic war with France.
- England just conquered/subjugated both Scotland and Ireland.
- HRE … Eee-NOPE.
- Ottomans are engaged in some war with a country that , is so far away from civilization that there are not even maps of that place in Portugal.
- Commonwealth somehow incorporated Teutonic Order and is at war with…. half the Europe?
