I've noticed that there are quite a few duplicated Marshals in the game. Although this is still a minority, it still happens and I didn't notice any obvious reason for this.

You mean that a ruler has two courtiers with the marshal sign on them? Only one of them is really in the position, so it's a cosmetic bug.
cosmetic bug is still a bug right? Also had a duplicate wife for one of my sons... he was a schizo... maybe that had something to do with it 
Yes, but as a cosmetic thing, it's unlikely to be on the top of priority list. I am also quite sure that They know about it already, even if the buglist is no longer a sticky.
