Dungeonland Multiplayer Dead

I'm wondering why the online multiplayer component for Dungeonland is just down. I just keep getting messages of "Could not reach the matchmaking server", which is a bummer as a few friends and me wanted to play it sometime next week.
Any particular reason for this?

I have created a guide that is a sticky post on the Dungeonland forums on how to get the game to work with the locked content, however it is important to note that the MP servers are down, so the only way to play with your friends is LOCAL Co-op or perhaps some screen sharing program but that is beyond my knowledge of what or how that would work.

The dev studio behind the game, Critical Studios is no longer in business as of the end of 2013, so I fear that any sort of resurrection of the MP servers is no longer possible.
