I'd taken a 2 expansion break from CK2, but just picked up JD and HF - really loving a lot of the additions so far. One that seems weird however is the duelling, which seems maybe a little overboard.
In my recent game as a Baltic pagan, even the noblewomen get in on the action and it's not uncommon to see them with blood spattered faces and racking up duelling experience. Is this just a pagan or tribal thing or do feudal Christian nobles do the same thing? I'm just not really familiar with many historical accounts of highborn women laying waste to each other in single combat.
Along those lines - is it possible to set up messages when Characters of Interest get injured, especially severely? I don't see it in the settings. I tend to follow some of the other characters' storylines so it's nice to know when this is happening. Just happened to click on my older brother's portrait, turns out he's now one-handed and one-legged - a little immersion breaking to have no idea what went down.
Edit: just checked my other brother, he's now one-handed & one-eyed. Another brother missing an eye. One of my main tribal vassals is one-handed, one-eyed, and one-legged. Etc. Feels sort of like after Reaper's Due (I think) when everyone was becoming lunatics left & right, needs to be dialed down IMO.
