duel odds

I am currently try my luck on the Bring it on achievement but I got bad luck. The wiki says:

The outcome of the duel is random but heavily influenced by the difference in personal combat skill. Usually, one character wins by injuring the opponent. There is also a very small chance that one or both characters will die during the fight.

Dose anyone have more details on this?
I just lost a duel with my +4 Personal Combat char against a -4 guy and I got maimed.

Managed to win 6 duels with another char but died a month after the last duel because of natural death. Arghhhh!!!

Finally I managed to get this achievement. I was able to win 7 duels with a +2 PC guy. Challenging frail or imbecile chars I a good way.
The lost I took at the -4 vs +4 was huge bad luck I guess.

I regret nothing
This is a luck based achievement. I tried it the honorably way as a Norse. But I always got maimed or killed after the third duel and it frustrating too lose a quick character with 30, three generations in a row. Besides the suggestion on the wiki are not less of gamey.
