A, right, good point, hadnt thought about that.
But is it still WAD in extrem situations?
If in my example the lotharingian countup would have been at 99 it would have taken 199 years to make gelre english while if I had waited another year to fight for my independance it would have taken only 107 (2 years for independence war, an additinal 5 for the invasion of England and 100 years to count right up because there would be no need for a countdown to frisia). Since in that particular case (within an empire) the lotharingian crown laws dont effect me any way (but the emperors) the only differance would have been the kings de-jure claim for gelre but since he gets an inheritable claim because of me rebelling anyway it makes almost no differance (depending on how old his ruler(s) are/get). Sure 99 is an extrem but even at 50 years the resulting 150 (no matter what way I let it count) are more than 1/3 of the given timeframe, and 50 years to become independant as a count especally if you only get 1-2 fabricated claims in that time and have to breed others into your dynasty first isnt that long.
As a real example:
Right now gelre still needs 12 years of countdown while holland has allready 2 years of countup -> even though holland became part of england 3 years after gelre (and almost 10 years after gelre became independent) it takes gelre 15 years longer to become de-jure english.
So while I see the use/need of a countdown/delay I think it should have some kind of cap.
Like if there is a countdown for 10 years (and during that time no war between the duchy and the king) the incoperation gets reset to 0 since the king obviously wasnt interested/able to assimilate that duchy.
Right now Gelre still needs 12 years of countdown while holland has allready 2 years of countup -> even though holland became part of england 2 years after gelre (and almost 10 years after gelre became independent) it will take gelre 14 years longer to become de-jure english.
