So Matilda won't ever accept a marriage between anybody but a King or rich duke, but then goes ahead of marries lowborns and not even marti marriage, a regular one! I'm not sure if this is a bug or not though.

It's not a bug, and it's the wrong forum. It happened to me to see the same in 1.05g with a genius Byzantine Empress.

These super-wanted women "search high" (very high) but as they approach the end of their fertile age they take whatever they can get. Pretty realistic, in a sense.

No, he's right. Matilda (or any female ruler) has the power to make any courtier matri-marry her. So there should NEVER be a time that she's willing to accept a regular marriage to a courtier.

Why?

I'd say at best we need a slightly better marriage AI for women.

I don't see right or wrong here to be honest.

Just saying, Matilda marries the Premyslid heir to Bohemia in 90% of my games (not matrilineally). It can end up with her independence and Premyslids ruling all of Italy as Kings of Naples....
