I have done a bit of research but nothing pointed to this for sure. I am wondering of changing the very core of the Empire ideals can be done, similar to how the Galactic Republic changed into the Empire in Star Wars.
What I'd like to do is start as a Militarist/Xenophobe/Materialist Indirect Republic and transition over a relatively short (few hundred years) period of time into a Militarist/Xenophobe/Collectivist (perhaps spiritualist I'll have to see how psionics work) Empire.
Is something like this possible based on what we know?
