POLICYDESC_0;This bar shows the government's view of political pluralism. It can range from democratic to authoritarian. ;;;;;;;;;;x
POLICYDESC_1;This bar shows the government's view of societal equality. The political left want to increase equality at the expense of freedom and order while the political right want to decrease it in favour of either freedom or order.;;;;;;;;;;x
POLICYDESC_2;This bar shows the government's view of societal freedom. The defenders of an Open Society want to increase freedom at the expense of equality and order, and the proponents of a Closed Society want to decrease it in favour of either equality or order.;;;;;;;;;;x
POLICYDESC_3;This bar shows the government's view of the economic system. It can range from free market, mixed market, regulated market to central planning. Usually you find the liberals on the free market side, while social conservatives and social democrats are on the other.;;;;;;;;;;x
POLICYDESC_4;This bar shows the government's view of the organization of defense. It can range from a standing army to a draft army of conscripts and volunteers. As standing armies are often expensive, cost-cutters and market liberals usually want a draft army, while traditionalist, social conservatives prefer a standing one.;;;;;;;;;;x
POLICYDESC_5;This bar shows the government's view of war and peace. It can range from the political realism of the Hawks to the political idealism, or internationalism, of the Doves.;;;;;;;;;;x
POLICYDESC_6;This bar shows the government's view of world politics. It can range from imperialist expansionism, ideological interventionism, neutrality to isolationism.;;;;;;;;;;x
My interpretation is as follows:
#0 (DEM, Democratic) and #1 interact to determine what kind of government you have. Some governments are limited on how they can move their sliders. Also impacts foreign relations - similar governments like each other more.
#1 (POL, Politics) determines which minsters are available
#2 (FRE, Freedom) imacts dissent in national provinces, foreign provinces, and counterintelligence. Probably makes research cost less (Team Salary) and impacts dissent growth and partisan activity.
#3 (FREM, Free Market) impacts money from consumer goods, resource production, production time and cost, and total IC.
#4 (PRO, Professional army) Gearing cost and Org bonus: The tooltip I saw showed moving toward a drafted army results in a -2% org and -2% buildtime; professional army adds +2% org and +2% buildtime.
#5 (DEF, Defence) impacts production time and cost, plus money from consumer goods. Porbably also impacts upgrade costs.
#6 (INT, Internationalism?) Changes diplomatic costs and badboy reduction(isolationist diplomacy costs more, but your badbad drops faster). Probably modifies the Belligerence you need to declare war and whether or not you can ally.
Anyone else care to run a guess the game effects of these sliders? or would someone in the know like to tell us?
