downloaded+patch=failed

I got mine from D2D and downloaded it then patch it. For some reasons after i launch the game and choose 1936 scenario, it crashed every time. I have choose Light, Full or even none.

I will try delete the folder and reinstall it later on. Yes i also had it on Admin on startup, cuz i running Vista 64bit.

It is recommended to not install the game in the C:\Programs folder but in another folder.
Try this.
A clean and fresh install could also help you maybe.

Is the crash immediately after loading the scenario or a while after during a game ?

Did you apply the final 1.0.1.1 patch ?

After the scenario is loading up, never get a chance to play. Yes i patch it to 1.0.1.1
On Vista, guess i should place the game folder under x86 and see if that make the different.

Better stay out of Program Files and install to a place like C:\Games\Darkest Hour

Anyway i manage to uninstall it, remove the old folder, infact i place it under /program files/x86 and patch it. For some reasons it wouldnt run for Vista64bits under 1936 scenarios or even light settings. I have run the game as Admin as well.

It doesnt matter where i place the game files, something is wrong here and i was playing the Japanese on 1936 Scenario. Again, the game crashed to desktop while running the scenario, not while playing the game.

1.01.1 is needed only if you play in non-English language.

At the first try i did try to launch the game without patching and didnt work, but the game run, just wont launch the 1936 scenario. So that why i patch it lastnight and realise that D2D where i download it only have one patch is 1.01 so i looked and see if there another and cant find 1.01.1. So i redownload it this morning and patch from 1.00 or default to 1.01.1, i didnt see anything that required to run or patch first before patching 1.01.1. And that probably what happen here, many ppls included me didnt read all the text listed under the patch. My bad so i didnt have to patch to 1.01.1 cuz i was playing English Version.

For some reason 1.01 didnt came thru from D2D patch. Maybe i should patch from here? Still cant figured out why the game wouldnt run the 1936 scenario.

If the game doesn't work without any patch I wouldn't expect it to work with a patch either. There is something wrong with your install of the game and that's why we recommend a clean install in a non-protected by Vista's UAC folder.

I try again tonight and see if the game will run alone without the patch, not in x86 folder. Btw D2D was telling me it need to run under admin for Vista users, so wasnt sure if that help or not. I will run it under admin and see, if that doesnt work then i will run without it. Does XP Compatible work at all? Also making sure this game is stand alone and doesnt required HoI II to play, D2D stated it doesnt. When i download games from D2D they directed me to Gamespy --> Comrade, so i wasnt too happy with that option, but dont have any choice to download it.

Darkest Hour is a stand alone game.
There is no need to run it as Administrator, in XP compatibility mode or do other tricks under Vista as long as it is installed in a place outside Vista's protection.

Well not much i can do here, still keep crashing. I checked the savedebug and seem to be normal in that .txt, ran it XP compatible and still does it. So figured there no need to patch it, most cases patches usually fix most older games for newer OS to be more compatible.

Anyway i downloaded the patch and still crashed on Full, Light and None Mod for 1936 Scenario while choosing Japan. I have installed Darkfall, Shogun 2 and Eve Online in the past seven days and havent had any problems running them.

With the patch i have 1.01 along with...
Full - HIDJ
Light - CTXG
None - OSKF

I tried to run other scenarios and didnt run either. Been reading other threads and noticed does it required to have NetFrame 2.0+ i have some and some programs got to have the right version otherwise it could crash. Wasnt sure what other support files is needed, should have came with the game and install them as well.

That what i was thinking, it seem i have already have it. It gotta be something to do with Vista 64bit or not fully supported. I reinstall HoI II and see what happen, it took me into the game but crashed when i loadup the scenarios as well. Unfort i couldnt find the latest patch for HoI II, they all seem to be broken. I know i can run HoI I and HoI III, but cant run HoI II, that is wierd.

I just redownload my AoD from gamergates and the game ran fine, hasnt been patch yet.
