Downloaded patch, bought sons of abraham dlc of gamersgate... Doesn't work.

I downloaded the patch through the usual launcher having bought the sons of abraham dlc of gamersgate and then started up the game, expecting to download the dlc through the in-game store. However, upon starting it I could not see the usual in-game store at all, and the game seemed to be playing through steam for some reason. Has something gone wrong? Is the in-game store down? Has the patch linked the game to steam for some reason?

Ok have closed down steam and now everything works as normal. But my question is, does the game now automatically run through steam? If so, why?

I have the same problem, so it seems like something is messed up.

That is correct. Hmm. There could be something in the code that tries to talk to Steam about achievements and Ironman mode. We'll look into it.

I can also confirm that closing steam solves the problem. Must be as Doomdark says, that something talks to Steam if it's running in the background... :/

I have every piece of DLC and the latest patch.
Just installed the patch and the other three new pieces of DLC today but the songs pack won't download. It says that I already bought it but can't donwload it it for some reason.

How do you manage to close the steam? For me, it complains that I have to shut down the CK2 before closing steam.

Close CK2, then close Steam (make sure you really close it by right clicking the traybar-icon and pick "Close" and not just minimize it to the traybar), then start CK2 again and it should work fine.

Same happens to me. I have Sons of Abraham nstalled, as all DLCs from GG, and for some reason Sons of Abraham and Character Editor do not load. It's really getting frustrating. I don't even have Steam running on my PC, so what can I do?

If you don't have the same happening as the OpeningPost it might be the old DLC identification problem.
After downloading the DLCs in the ingame store, stay logged in, quit the game and do a restart of the game. That should fix the identification problem if it is not the exact problem the OP has.


edit: i forgot, patch the game first and then download the DLCs. Newer DLCs don't work on older patches.
