The installer and the zipped version contain the same files (the installer isn't much more than an auto-extractor), the zipped versions are meant for Mac user and people who just want to have a look at the files (or are plain paranoid ).

The installer has a working uninstall function and the option to install an additional backup, the zipped version contains a backup of the original files (in /backup-daim/).

Question about DAIM

Several quick questions - does DAIM requires 1.2 patch for Doomsday (I have a "clean" unpatched Doomsday original version)?
And will it be a problem if I patch a RUSSIAN version with english patch?

Yes, as said above, DD-DAIM is for Doomsday 1.2.

Welcome to the forum.

You can change your language settings in the settings file in the main folder of DD. Language=1 is English IIRC.

Oh, forgot to ask about the 1.1 patch - is it necessary to install it before 1.2?
Or 1.2 alone will be O.K.?

I would like to try the Daim mod for Doomsday but there is a few questions I would like to ask first:

1) Will the DAIM mod ruin my clean Doomsday installation? IE will the DAIM mod make it impossible to play unmodded Doomsday after install?
2) I see there is one version of DAIM for Doomsday 1.2. How can I find out what version of Doomsday I have?

1) Ruin it? Not at all. Simply uninstall DAIM to get your vanilla DD back.

2) Did you install any patch? If not, you should install patch 1.2. The version number is shown at the upper right corner of the main screen IIRC.

I'm currently in Mainland China. After careful research, I'm sure that Chinese government hijacked the domain of dyndns.org. It's not possible for me to access, even if I find a new dns server.

Greetings DAIM team. I'm wondering if a new version is in the works for Doomsday? I just want to make sure I'm testing SMEP with the absolute newest stuff.

After each intallation of Daim for HOI2 (Not DD), I Have the following Problem at the loading of the party : AI_BOLD.txt is missing.

I downloaded the installer version of DAIM. No problem during the installation on HOI 1.3.

I never heard of AI_BOLD.txt and it certainly isn't a DAIM file. Did you use the right installer? There are separate versions for HoI 2 and DD (+Armageddon).
